2016's new Goal

Hi my name is Sandy and I have struggled with my weight all of my life. Yo-yoing anywhere between a size 12 and 22. I have had many ups and downs with sparkpeople. I start off 2015 at 232 pounds my heaviest to date. My goal was to lose 88 pounds. I finished off 2015 at 2013 pounds. I had gotten down to 208 but the holidays hit and I gained some.

Because of health related issues (blood sugars and cholesterol) my dotor has put me on qsymia which should help me reach my goal. My goal is to eat 1200 - 1400 calories a day, exercise 6 days a week.

I still have a long way to go to reach my goal weight in 2016 and but I am sure I can do it with focus and alot of exercise.

My kids are my life and I want to make sure that I get to enjoy many years with them and potential grandchildren. So now is the time to get it together and stay motivated and focused on my goal.

My 2016 goals are to participate in a couple 5K's, drink more water, lose 50 pounds this year, set a good example for my children with eating and exercise, and stay on my spiritual journey remembering daily how to live a better life and treating others how I would like to be treated.

That darn scale it can be such a source of pride and feeling of accomplishment when it has a lower number than the time before and such a source of frustration when it doesn't change or moves in an upward direction. You know that your hard work will show up someday but it might be more apparent in other ways - clothes, working out harder and feeling more energized.
Not sure this will make you feel better, but I did a chart from Jan through last week and it has taken me 12 weeks to lose 7 pounds, so my body is in slow mode but I am fitting into clothes I couldn't buy before so muscle I think weighs more than fat ;)

Excited for you about scheduling the vacation - can't be any form of camping and I consider a cabin just that. What a great get away for the family.

Weight in day on Thursday and I feel like I should have one more work out in - could wait till Friday but feel like that would be 'cheating'. Oh well, was able to buy a dress a size smaller than previously so that means things are moving in the right direction.

How is the BL program going? Lots of incentive and new exercise routines?
Happy St. Patty's

Sorry to hear about the wrist, are you wearing the brace when working out as well as for night for sleeping to prevent compression on the nerve? The medication you started for the prediabetes, this isn't one of the side effects is it?
You know your own body well and while losing only the 1# is not what you wanted to see, when your GI system is out of whack the numbers don't always change the way we want them to, darn it! You will get to Onederland, but in the mean time are you feeling like your clothes are fitting differently?

Was glad to read that you had a self treat day, what a great feeling. Wish we could get those weekly and as this is for our well being, I think our insurance should spring for part of the bill emoticon

Was out in the rain, thankful not the predicted snow, walking my friends dog a couple of times a day over the weekend. I for sure would not have been out in the rain on my own, so the plus was the dog needing a walk. I think I need to have a pedometer so I could track the distance walked and divide by time, the dog stops then walks faster than I normally would, so I averaged it out as best I could.

Not ready for the week, sure getting up in the morning will not be easy with the change in hour and I have to be up even earlier for some medical testing. Ugh what was I thinking ;)

This is our week to see changes!!!

Spending the weekend dog watching/walking so expect to get many walks in outside this weekend. I have to say I do find it a little more challenging to figure out how to track, as a dog stops frequently and then walks faster than I normally walk so trying to get an average. So I bump up the time per mile as I am thinking overall I am probably a little slower with the dog.

I think next week will retake measurements to see if anything changing, weight changes are sooo sloooooow ;)
Have a great weekend,
