Hi my name is Sandy and I have struggled with my weight all of my life. Yo-yoing anywhere between a size 12 and 22. I have had many ups and downs with sparkpeople. I start off 2015 at 242 pounds my heaviest to date. My goal was to lose 88 pounds. I finished off 2015 at 2013 pounds. I had gotten down to 208 but the holidays hit and I gained some.

Because of health related issues (blood sugars and cholesterol) my dotor has put me on qsymia which should help me reach my goal. My goal is to eat 1200 - 1400 calories a day, exercise 6 days a week.

I still have a long way to go to reach my goal weight in 2016 and but I am sure I can do it with focus and alot of exercise.

My kids are my life and I want to make sure that I get to enjoy many years with them and potential grandchildren. So now is the time to get it together and stay motivated and focused on my goal.

My 2016 goals are to participate in a couple 5K's, drink more water, lose 50 pounds this year, set a good example for my children with eating and exercise, and stay on my spiritual journey remembering daily how to live a better life and treating others how I would like to be treated.

Just wanted to clarify that I was thinking that maybe she sees the changes you are making and thinks that means things will be changing for her as well. Stressful to have a parent in the services especially deployment, certainly understand being a stress eater myself. Hope the physicians are able to provide insight that will be beneficial for her. Can't imagine how tough it must be as a parent to watch her go through this experience.

I keep debating on the Garmin/Fit bit issue, haven't jumped on board with either, but definitely need to do something. Even a simple pedometer that is reliable would help for when I go walking. I can track on my bike mileage and time riding so that helps but walking is such a guess.

Really inspired by the group that I am volunteering with, women (and men) that have experienced cancer and are performing a triathalon at the end of the summer. Volunteered last year and was excited to volunteer again this year. Makes me feel I should definitely be doing something by the end of the summer (no running though).

    Have a good weekend,

So after the past weekend and yesterday/today at work, I jumped on board for a BL summer challenge. We had lots of treats over the weekend and some were sent home with me. Then this is our week at work that we have celebrations daily, so more treats of course lots of goodie tasting and looking sweets and carbs.
So nutrition tracker says I am eating in my maintenance mode when I really should be eating in my 'losing' mode. So time to shake it up and get back on track.
Weather has not been cooperating for outdoor activities, low 50's high 40's and rain. Need some warmer temps to get back out for some evening walks.
Hope you are more on track this past week as I know you are nearing the BIG ONE!
PS - Been thinking about your daughter's situation and wondered if hiding food is a way to address the changes that are occurring in your house (exercising, healthier eating, food accountability). I can remember coming home from school and quickly eating a snack so no one would realize that I had eaten something before dinner.

So far all my gardening has been weeding, lots and lots of weeds so lots of squats, mowing and spreading milorganite to smother the weeds with healthy grass.
Too cold to do more tonight, so another day behind from where I wanted to be as no time this weekend with the holiday. My garden for veggies will be pretty small as I get very little sunlight in my yard, take some pics of yours once you get them in the ground and they are established.
Is the blood work checking for Diabetes? If so, wishing it's a low number.
Hope you and the family have something fun planned for Mothers Day.
With you, want less of this emoticon and more of this emoticon

Thanks for commenting on my blog.
I decided I was going to try to blog to hold myself more accountable. This was my 13th blog in a row & I think it was the missing piece needed to restart my weightloss because it's working!
    You CAN do this too!
