Hello, I love to cook & eat! I love to work out at the Y and am learning to run, but am very weak to snacks (even healthy ones) and I just love good food way too much!! I am a former vegan and when I added dairy & white flour back into my diet a few years ago, I gained about 25 pounds! Ugh!

After working in a pharmacy for 18 years, I have a passion for nutrition and disease prevention. I have been a vegetarian and excitotoxin free for nearly 10 years. My weight is not why I became a veg. I had fibromyalgia and migraine headaches. I now have neither.

Seven years ago I moved to southern Oregon from southern California to be closer to family and have a whole new life and have a better attitude. I have a three year old son now, too!

I have learned that the key to good nutrition and disease prevention is: Eating Right! Including, eating as many fruits and vegetables as possible! Be true to my workout and make it part of my life!
Become a Certified Personal Trainer by May 2014
Do the "Dirty Dash" in June 2014
Don't give in to temptation of food and smoking!
Help others along the way.

My Motivational Rewards for weight loss:
140 lbs - Get a massage and facial
135 lbs - Go to a fun place for a weekend.
130 lbs - Hmmmm not sure, this would be so awesome!

This is my workout schedule:
Cardio workout 4 days a week, usually on treadmill or elliptical or bicycle
Strength training 3 days a week, preferably non-consecutive days.

I work outside my home 2-3 days a week, so on those days I don't usually go to the gym. Eventually, I'd like to just run on those days, right outside my front door, especially in spring & summer.

My Goals:
I want to get fit! I know I can do it, because I have before. I am disappointed in myself for letting my shape get out of control again.

My Program:
I eat healthy, but I need to watch my portion sizes and amounts of protein, fats & carbs I'm eating. I need to exercise daily!! Exercise is what makes the weight come off for me! It's tough in the winter because I just want to stay inside, but once I get to the gym, I feel better.

Other Information:
I love to read cookbooks and cook. I like to challenge myself and alter standard recipes to make them vegan. Another frequent challenge is to see if my husband will eat it and like it.
