I have recently recovered from a debilitating illness and injury. Prior to that I had several family problems that had started me on the way putting on weight. So much weight that I had begun losing on my own but found again that I could not do this alone. I have recovered from the illness and injury which took 3 years but the many extra pounds are still here!! I need to join with others on the same mission and gain the motivation to at last end my journey of weight loss for good. I am looking for others that also need this help and desire to lose the weight and keep it off!! I have alreaady lost 7 pounds in 5 days. I am enjoying the excersising already. My hobbies are baseball, quilting, geneology. I have three grandchildren I want to see grow up and can join them in play. I am retired due to a disablilty as well as many health problems due to my need to lose weight!!

My Goals:
I am committed to losing at least 60 pounds. Be able to walk without being winded or have to sit and rest. To be able to play with my grand children.

My Program:
I am actively attending the Curves Program. Doing the Diabetic and Spark Diet together. Continue to stay motivated with inspirational articles from Spark Pages.

Personal Information:
I was born in Washington state, raised in Michigan, Tennessee, and Florida where I still live. I have 3 grown children and 4 grandchildren. Family is the most important thing in our lives!!!!!

Other Information:
I enjoy most sports but baseball (Yankees) is my favorite!!! I enjoy sewing, quilting, crafts, reading and learning. I like most all music but Country is my usual choice. It is very important to me to have a Positive Mental Attitude!!! I am retired from working as an Intervention Specialist for a Women's Drug and Alcohol Recovery Center.

    Make your lunch healthier today by choosing one of the following options:

    Try different types of lettuce in your salad rather than just iceberg lettuce (think dark, leafy greens)

    Add at least one serving of fruit to your meal

    Use whole grain bread or wraps for your sandwich

    Have soup before your meal

    If you eat out, have a healthy appetizer instead of a full entree

    If these ideas don't work, what else could you do to make your lunch healthier?

    Take at least 5 minutes today to listen to your favorite song.
    Experts know that music is a great stress-reliever and whether you like to turn it up and rock out or you prefer something quiet or soothing, taking a few minutes to zone out with your favorite tune can be refreshing.
