On the Road to Better Health

I am a SAHM with 2 boys, ages 10 & 14. I have struggled with my weight most of my adult life. 3+ yrs ago, I quit smoking! WOO HOO! I have multiple sclerosis and was hospitalized last year. After the terrible drugs I was given I decided I HAD to do as much as I personally could for my health. I can't do anything about having MS but I can lower my BP to a healthy rate, and eat right, and exercise more. So I decided to try Herbalife products in December of 2006. I have done well on them but ...

After the terrible drugs I was given I decided I HAD to do as much as I personally could for my health. I can't do anything about having MS but I can lower my BP to a healthy rate, and eat right, and exercise more. So I decided to try Herbalife products in December of 2006. I have done well on them but I am concerned that I will have a difficult time transitioning from the shakes to real food when the time comes. Plus, the products are too expensive for me personally. As I cannot currently work, I have guilt spending the money I do on the products I use.
So I am hoping SparkPeople can help my transition. I am very excited about this new turn of events!

My Goals:
Lose the last 30 lbs or so(hopefully by Feb. 2007), Become tone, reduce body fat.
Control my BP with my diet.
Enjoy the remaining years as healthy as I can be and be the best role model for my children as I can possibly be!

My Program:
1-Calorie goal 1000-1200
2- Strength training -3x's /wk (30 mins.)
3- Water aerobics- 2x's/wk
4-Cardio 45-60+ mins. 5-7 days /wk
I am very motivated with exercise but I do suffer from severe fatigue so I do the best I can. Exercise helps me fight the fatigue I experience.

Personal Information:
My name is Lisa. I am from a small town in NE PA. I am happily married for 17+ yrs. We have 2 wonderful boys, 10 & 14. They are the center of our world but they are like night and day....completely opposite! They have very little in common, so yes, they argue ALOT!

Other Information:

If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are truly important.

How are you today? I'm doing okay. I just had my oatmeal. I do so good in the morning with my diet. Then .... I just can't keep my mind set. I have not lost anything in a long time. I've probably gained. Oh well...

Hello Partner,
Just popping to say hi & to remind you to do your injection(not that you need reminding any more.)
I'm headed off to work soon. I am way to tired today .... I so want to jump in bed and rest. (or possibly sleep for the night) But trudge through the day I must do- we all have to do it sometimes. I'm sure you understand. Where do we find the strength sometimes?
