Hi, I'm starting out at 183 lbs after having surgery on my ankle and spraining the other while in my cast. I've never had to diet until now. So this is new for me. After I had my 3 kids I couldn't keep the weight on and had to eat 5 full meals a day. I never thought this day would come. Hi, I'm starting out at 183 lbs after having surgery on my ankle and spraining the other while in my cast. I've never had to diet until now. So this is new for me. After I had my 3 kids I couldn't keep the weight on and had to eat 5 full meals a day. I never thought this day would come. I went back to the gym after ankle surgery; trying to lose weight and gain my balance plus strength. I found this site back in April 09 and found out more about what I need to do to achieve my goals. However, once I started exercising I started having problems with my foot (the same one that had surgery); found out I've been walking wrong and need to slow down to a controlled walk. It's been quite a challenge trying to get some cardio because my form is all wrong. Then of all things I fell trying to rehabilitate my walk... and sprained the other ankle (once again). It's been frustrating to not be able to do the things that any normal person could do... I'm not about to quit! I'm trying to start off with my diet, should be easy... I'm not a big eater, just gotta eat the right stuff and keep walking! I'm happy to be here on SP... its great! I'm learning by tracking what I eat so I can find the right nutritional balance. The first key here is to make it easier for me to walk... Diet...Lose Weight... Rehabilitation will be easier!

Thank you so much for your comment on my blog!!! I have an HMO but when I go back to the dr. next week, I will ask about the swelling and seeing a pulmonary specialist. In the meantime, the swelling has completely gone away but it has always disturbed me how it showed up, literally, overnight!! Anyways, take care of yourself as well!! It sounds like you are having lots of problems!! And again, thanks for the warning!
