I am 42 years old and a diabetic for the last 3 years. I have 3 beautiful children. I was married to a wonderful man for almost 10 years. Tragically, he was killed in an accident. I lost my best friend. I knew I had to be strong for my children. But for myself, I was not. I would get up and go through the day, band, choir, school, everything they wanted to do. I lost my best friend. I knew I had to be strong for my children. But for myself, I was not. I would get up and go through the day, band, choir, school, everything they wanted to do. At night after all the homework and baths were done and everyone was in bed, I ate. I ate anything and everything in private. I was grieving and this was the only way I could show it. After a few years, I woke up! I had gained 100 pounds! Enough was enough! Now I am on track. Eating healthy, watching my blood sugars and getting out and enjoying my life. I can do this! It is 4 my life!

My Program:
I track my sugars everyday. I make sure I eat my veggies, fruit, grains and protein and track what I eat. I watch my bread and pasta intake. Measure everything!

Personal Information:
I traveled a lot growing up. But Texas is my home!

Other Information:
I love 80's movies, and reading. Swimming, bicycling, and walking are my favorite exercises.

Wow! Thanksgiving was wonderful! I am very blessed. But, I have also been off my healthy program. I have gained back about 20 pounds in the last 2 months. But, I know I must get back on tack. I have so much I want to do. So here's to getting back on track!

Back on track and loving Fall! My son and I both walked The Trinity this morning! Blood Sugars were 108, a little high. But pretty good for my slip up over the last couple of weeks! So back on track and loving Fall!

Wow! The last week and a half has slipped by and so has my healthy eating. My son had bronchitis so I quit exercising to sit with him because he could not exercise either. So I allowed comfort foods to re-enter our life. Mashed potatoes, pizza, and chicken strips! I know I messed up! I allowed it! And boy, do I feel the effects. I am sluggish, no energy, and my scale has an additional 5 pounds on it! But, looking on the brighter side, my son feels a lot better! And I am re-energized to get me and my son back on the healthy eating trail! It has only been about a week and a half since I faltered, but it seems like a lot longer. I really have missed the fresh fruits, the veggies, and the water! So welcome back healthy eating and welcome back energy! I missed you!

Ok. Had a bad day. But today is a new day! I will keep on keeping on! Had a lovely walk in the cool, crisp morning air! Love it!
