Hi! I've tried lots of different weight-loss methods, but nothing has ever really worked to motivate me. Then I had kids! Growing up overweight and ridiculed, I want to model positive eating and exercise habits for my kids, especially my daughter (but also for my son, too!). I'd love to meet new friends and weight-loss/healthy-living buddies! :)
My goals, my goals...hmm... I have lots of goals, like wearing a smaller size in clothing or being able to feel comfortable in my own skin, but I think my biggest goal is to give my kids the healthiest mom they can get!
Unlike my previous attempts at weight loss, I'm trying to take a more moderate approach to cutting calories and increasing exercise. I'm trying to remind myself that I only need to eliminate an extra 500 calories a day and that exercise doesn't have to be repetitive, boring, rat-on-a-wheel-type of work (although that definitely has its place, and I do go to the gym on occasion) - it can be fun! Overall, I guess moderation and being reasonable is the name of my game!
I'm a 30-year-old mom of two beautiful kids, living in Maine, one of the most gorgeous states around (even when we're under a few feet of snow!). I'm a frustrated soon-to-be-medical-transcriptionist in an Administrative Assistant's body, and I'm looking forward to coursework in Medical Coding and Billing.
I like movies, music (especially fun tunes on my iPod while I'm working out!), hanging out with friends, going to the beach, driving with the windows down and the music cranked, taking photographs and sleeping (although my kids seem to think I don't need to do that!).
