Why sparkpeople? As always, I still want to stop whacking things over with my butt, I'm tired of being tired and I'm tired of not finding anything that I like that fits and I'm tired of putting things off until I am thin. My son went and graduated from high school last summer, and I see the pictures and I'm ashamed that I allowed myself to get so heavy, when I know what to do and how to do it and have no one to blame for this fat prison but myself. I want the outside of me to match up with that more slender girl that lives in my head.
plus, I kinda told my doctor I was doing this and he seems to think I'll live longer and stuff if I actually follow through...facts are...I just want to do this for me...I'm done hiding behind this layer of fat, no matter how good it is for insulation in the winter.
Soooooo...goals seem pretty popular around the spark pages, I originally came up with two, but then I thought of some more, so here they are...
At 20lb. the Wii Just Dance game
At 50lbs ...a Sigg Water Bottle
At a 70lb loss - my Wii Fit
At 85lbs...a waterproof ipod case
At 100lbs - a digital slr camera
At 120lbs - TATTOO...
Some Quotes that keep me focused....
-"Holding onto anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intention of throwing it at someone else. You are the one who gets burned."-
-"Thousands of candles can be lit from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared.”-
-"Here's to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The trouble-makers. The round heads in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They're not fond of rules, and they have no respect for the status-quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify, or vilify them. But the only thing you can't do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do."-
You want a revolution?
You've got to make a difference on your own
You want a revolution?
Stand up, stand out and make it known.
~ from the song "Revolution" by Authority Zero
-"Happiness is not a brilliant climax to years of grim struggle and anxiety. It is a long succession of little decisions simply to be happy in the moment."-
-J. Donald Walters
I'm just focusing on getting back on track with healthy eating again. I'm not dieting, but I am paying real attention to eating right. My first goal is to learn delayed gratification. Seem I have a bit of a problem with that...
I eat what I want - I am no good at denial - and I follow (mostly) a healthy program a nutritionist worked out for me. Basically, it's counting calories...because I told her I wouldn't eat low-fat anything and forget about artificial sweeteners. I like butter and Ben and Jerry's waaaaaay too much.So yeah, I am just really working on adding more veggies and fruit to everything I eat.
I live in the landlocked state of PA, but my heart lies in the Bay Area, near my ocean...I'm a pretty creative person, with just about anything. I like making things up. And Alpacas, I like them. And Monkeys - I like them too.
UPDATE: I do like other things too...I suppose someday I'll tell you about them.
I read voraciously when I can...a lot for work, and then some for the wicked pleasure of owning books and reading them. I have a swing in my back yard. I would live there if I could, but winter is all cold and stuff.
