I am at my goal weight! An excellent day to modify my introduction.

I have been (or felt) overweight for most of my life. I peaked at size 13-14 in 7th-8th grade, and weighed almost 200 pounds at the end of both of my pregnancies. I struggle with a mood disorder and have a tendency toward emotional overeating.

Thanks to a great support team (my husband, my therapist, my employer, and my SP BFFs) I have been increasingly empowered to devote time to my own physical, mental, and spiritual health. I got motivated to achieve as much fitness as I could while anticipating a colon surgery in March 2010, and something about that goal resonated differently than past goals based on weight or dress size. After my surgery, I knew when I needed to rest, but was excited to exercise once again once my body was ready.

Now I am in a much better place. The depressed demons still lurk beneath the surface, but I start just about every day with exercise, I seek out active ways to enjoy time off with my family and friends, and I plan healthy meals and snacks. The tendency toward emotional overeating has NOT gone away but I am working actively to manage it.

Get your FitBit yet? Still waiting for mine. I should have gone with the burgundy since the black one has taken so long!

Every time I look at my sink, I think of you. I know; I'm a weird one. Who else would call themselves "woodsbooger"? You can pretend I'm a mental patient seeking your professional help, should someone see us talking.

I played with the free games on lumosity and also didn't want to pay for the others but when I got a e-mail with an advertisement for 20% off I broke down. My DH is actually going to pay for it though, as part of a late birthday gift. I have to say, I love the games, love the variety... it makes brain training fun! Oh and thanks for the invite!
