More Fun, Less Me

It has been 30 years since I last had a major weight loss success. Both of my daughters have made great strides in this area and have inspired me to try again.
6 weeks in and 1/3 of the way through Stage 1. All I have to do to do this is keep doing this. Almost to the point where people can see a difference. That will be a big motivator!

6/1/11 Start Date - eating better, moving more. No soda more fresh veggies for this confirmed cookietarian.

Personal Information:
Busy Grandma with a wonderful Husband, Daughter and Granddaughter at home.
Weight creep has gotten out of control and I need to refurbish my life while there is still time to enjoy it.

Other Information:
Need help with activities that don't seem like exercise. I'm keeping my food intake right where it should be, and losing weight, but I know I need to move more to truly get "fit."

I just noticed the comment you left last month. As to your question about what I am doing that's working, it's really been about eating carefully. I've been diligent about staying between 1200 adn 1550 calories every day, and eating a ton of vegetables and fruit. Much less meat. In general, I eat vegetarian until dinnertime, but that's not a rule, just a guideline. I've really cut my carbs way back, relying mostly on brand buds in my yogurt in the morning and rice cakes with soup at lunch.
I make soup every weekend and bring a big container of it in on Sunday, along with greens for salad, yogurt and frozen berries for breakfast. My boss calls my cabinet in my office "the grocery store." Basically, I've just made it really easy to eat healthily at the office and minimize the temptation of choosing some high fat/high calorie lunch from the place next door.

I have never met a more supportive and helpful group of people. I'm only in week 3 myself, but feeling more successful than I have in 25 years! emoticon
