Continuing the Journey

I am back to SP in order to resume my accountability for my eating and exercise habits. I began this journey years ago near 225 pounds and have subsequently settled in around 184 recently.
I had gotten down to 171 last spring, but a return to familiar people and places led me astray for a bit- but no more!! I graduated with my PhD this past August and have begun my postdoctoral career, all while raising 4 kids and training for half and full marathons- anyone that can handle that should ...

My Program:
Would like to return to this program once I am fully recovered from surgery that I had in December...

1.) Running with Galloway run/walk method (2 min. run/1 min. walk) 3-4 times a week

2.) Cross train 2-3 times a week (elliptical/bike/lift weights)

3.) Incorporate yoga and stretching more to help prevent injury and strengthen core.

Personal Information:
46 year old, happily married mom of 4 kids, ranging in age from 15 to 22.Just finished my PhD this past August and loving life!

Other Information:
Feeling like a real runner again, bringing out that inner athlete! Love books, gardening, music, animals and my family (the 2 legged and the 4 legged)

Thanks for leading me to SP! What does your fitness regime look like now that you are home? I am thinking about registering for "My first 5K" sponsored by USM and the Wellness Center. I wish you were here to train with me...and I miss you.
