New Beginnings!

After a false start on this journey for the last couple of years, my body has final started screaming "Help!". This time I have made a promise to listen to my body and believe in myself!

I have struggled with my weight since the birth of my eldest daughter 8 1/2 years ago. After the birth of second daughter three years ago, I gave up on myself completely. My health has gone downhill significantly in the last year and I am done feeling bad all the time!

Run my 1st Half-Marathon September 2nd, 2012 - IN TRAINING!!!

Run in the Illinois Marathon's 5k on April 29. 2011 - Done!!! Time - 40:56
5K April 27, 2012 - 36:50
10K April 28, 2012 - 1:18:49

Run in the Pirate 5k Havre de Grace, MD July 9th, 2011 - Break 38:00 - DNS due to bronchitis. This was really disappointing.


Eat!!-Healthy that is!

Track my food.

Move -for at least 20 minutes a day.

....and you know what? I really want to be able cross my legs comfortably when I am sitting! - I can do this now!!!

New goal! - Run a Marathon before I am 40. I've got 4 years to get this done. (7/19/2012 - Thinking about doing one Jan. 2014)

My Program:
I started my journey using Leslie Sansone's Walk Away the Pounds DVDs but I am now able to jog for up to 30 minutes. I also really like Denise Austin's Burn Fat Fast and Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred. Biggest Loser Last Chance Workout is another one of my favorites since it incorporates strength training. We also bought an elliptical in February and I love it! I am on it about 4 to 5 times a week.

My name is Jennifer. I am a 37 year-old mother of two and am from Champaign, IL! Go ILLINI! I am also a middle school math teacher and I am constantly on the go!

Dead Last Finish is greater than Did Not Finish is greater, greater than Did Not Start!

Saw this on the back of T-shirt during the last 5K that I participated in. So true!

Welcome to the Couch to 5k running group!!!! Stop by the message board and introduce yourself to the team. On the team page you will find a thread for each training week. Click on week one and post were you are at in your training. This is a great way to meet others who are in the same phase of training as you. Some of my best friends were in my training week one and we worked through the program together sharing victories, questions, comments, and ideas. I look forward to learning more about you. I will be popping in on the Weeks 1 - 3 training to help answer any questions that might pop up and to cheer you on to your goals! Be blessed! Be a runner!

hi there! I saw your post on a message board...We have similar weight loss goals. I have two children 3.5 yr old girl and 15 mo boy. I stay at home with my kids and work on weekends as a medical social worker. I am ready to work hard and be fit for myself.

Are you following the spark calorie tracker?

I noticed the goals to run! Have you heard of the couch to 5k? I did that last April and ran a 5 K in June, July and a triple race in 24 hours in Aug and then my second 1/2 marathon Nov 2010. Right now, I'm enjoying more cross training.
