I get a second chance at this...It has taken me 3.5 years to get back here. I loved looking back at my old posts, etc. because it reminded me of all that I worked for and all of the things that I learned about living a healthy and fulfilling lifestyle.

In 2011 I set out on a weight loss journey and had several victories. I lost 50 pounds in a little over a year but at the beginning of 2013 when all of my work should have made me more energized and feeling great, I just wasn't and it got more difficult to work a full day let alone exercise.

In May of 2013 I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Follicular Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. It turns out that my weight loss may have just saved my life. I was able to feel many enlarged lymph nodes but didn't put 2-and-2 together til well after diagnosis.

My 2.5 year treatment plan ended in October of 2015. It has taken me a while to figure out just what my new normal is. Unfortunately, some of it was back to my old normal of not exercising and eating whatever I wanted. Why not? I deserved it, right? Well...

So here I am ...ready for my 2nd chance at this!

Run in the Illinois Marathon's 5k on April 29. 2011 - Done!!! Time - 40:56

10K April 28, 2012 - 1:18:49

Run in the Pirate 5k Havre de Grace, MD July 9th, 2011 - Break 38:00 - DNS due to bronchitis. This was really disappointing.


Eat!!-Healthy that is!

Track my food.

Move -for at least 20 minutes a day.

....and you know what? I really want to be able cross my legs comfortably when I am sitting! - I can do this now!!!

New goal! - Run a Marathon before I am 40. I've got 4 years to get this done. (7/19/2012 - Thinking about doing one Jan. 2014)

I started my journey using Leslie Sansone's Walk Away the Pounds DVDs but I am now able to jog for up to 30 minutes. I also really like Denise Austin's Burn Fat Fast and Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred. Biggest Loser Last Chance Workout is another one of my favorites since it incorporates strength training. We also bought an elliptical in February and I love it! I am on it about 4 to 5 times a week.

    You know what I don't get? Why don't we see the emoticons above very often? I mean, I can't even tell you how often I have need of a mullet guy, a sandwich with a glass of wine, an ab roller looking machine, a dump truck and drama masks........ not to mention ALL of the international flags. It is pity we don't have any useless emoticons on here.........
