What you do today will affect you for the rest of your life...

UPDATE May 2013: I am way past ready to finally get this weight off for good. (Well, until I get pregnant again. lol) So my goal is to not worry about losing weight. It might sound counterproductive to most, but the more I focus on losing weight, the less weight I seem to lose. So what I am focusing on is:
drinking 8 - 10 glasses of water daily
exercising 4 -5 times a week
eating healthy, whole foods (most of the time)
getting enough sleep (probably one of the ...

UPDATE October 2012: We now have a new addition to the household! Joseph was born early October -- 7 lbs 10.5 oz and 19.5 inches. It'll still be a few weeks before I'm allowed to go back to my "regularly scheduled programming" (aka exercise), but I'm making my plans now to get this baby weight off once and for all.

UPDATE April 2012: I have again put my weight loss plans on hold while I incubate a little bun in the oven! lol Due around 22 October 2012.

UPDATE June 2010: I am now the proud mommy of a beautiful baby girl named Caroline. Born in late May, 6 pounds 3 ounces, 19 inches long. I'm looking forward to resuming my weight loss plans around the beginning of July, but until then I'm just enjoying the time with my little one!

UPDATE: As of September 2009 I have put my weight loss plans on hold because I'm expecting a little one! I'm due around the middle of May, so I'll have a lot of catching up to do then. But for now I'm eating sensibly (most of the time... can't help some of those cravings!) and getting some walking in at least a few times a week.

35 pounds down and about 19 to go!!

I originally started my weight loss journey in September 2008 when I got on the scale and it said I weighed 209 pounds. Two hundred and nine pounds!! That ain't cool on a 5'7" medium framed person! So I started looking around the tinterwebs (internet) and stumbled upon Sparkpeople. Eureeka! I joined under the screen name GIGAGIGGLE and promptly lost 25 pounds from September 2008 to February 2009.

Then life happened. I got sick (and stayed sick for 6 weeks), I went on vacation, and I basically just lost my motivation. I gained back about 5 pounds (thankfully that's all it was!) and just couldn't make myself get up off my duff and do anything about it. I wasn't checking into SP everyday anymore and sticking with my teams and challenges like I knew I needed to.

So one day I decided I just needed to get back to the basics. I opened this SP account and I've now started over on the whole Spark phases. I'm slowly incorporating more exercise into my routine and trying to get back into my groove. Some days are easier than others!! I'm really looking for a person (either in "real" life or on SP) that will be my accountability buddy and keep me on track on a daily basis. I need a slave driver! I know I can't do it on my own. My hubby is a great help but he is my husband... he can't tell me to quit being lazy and start exercising or I'd probably kill him. lol

My Goals:
Long Term Goals:
1) Lose about 50 pounds
2) Get fit and healthy

Short Term Goals:
1) Lose the next 5% of my body weight
2) Exercise at least 4 days a week
3) Eat more fruits and veggies
4) Watch the portions!!

My Program:
I try to eat several small meals a day and drink loads of water (at least 8-10 glasses). I'm eating a lot less junk now, and more whole grains, fruits and veggies. Moderation and portion control are necessary!

Personal Information:
I'm 35 and live in Southwest Arkansas. I've been married to my sweetie for 7 years. We are proud parents to two beautiful, healthy children and I adore being able to stay home full time with them.

I LOVE to read (just about anything I can get my hands on) and I really enjoy watching movies (when I can find the time)! I'm always in the middle of some craft or project (knitting, painting, drawing, cross stitching, genealogy, etc).
