After a six year absence from Spark I am back, not because I need to lose weight or get fitter but I am here again to stay motivated and involved with all that Spark has to offer.
In those six years I experienced many firsts: a hip replacement which has been a 100% success and game changer, another grandchild (a very dynamic girl), a new house and neighbourhood, the graduation of my daughter from eleven years of veterinary studies, adoption of a plant based diet and sadly the death of my husband.
Life throws curveballs at times but once you get back up you find that new challenges and freedoms await. I have decided that age is just a number and so I will work hard at fuelling and caring for my mind and body as best I can. Canada Day seems to be as good a time to begin so here I go.

Goal- maintain my weight in the low to mid 130's

-core and balance exercises daily
-total plant based diet

--active exploration of my community, province, country

Personal Information:
I'm a farm kid from Alberta, lived in Ontario for 25 years and have now settled in the Gaspereau Valley of Nova Scotia. I have two adult children and two grandchildren. Two cats and a rescue pooch keep me busy.

Other Information:
I love to garden. Crosswords and reading keep me busy when the snow flies. Cooking is also a delight- I'm always looking for new ideas for vegetarian meals. I am passionate about diet and exercise and firmly believe that we do have the power to keep ourselves healthy by eating well and being active.

    Thanks for the blog love on my Michigan Fiber Fest entry. The really cool things is they had all the different breeds of sheep grouped together and signs with characteristics of both the animal and wool. It is really set up as a learning experience, not just a chance to purchase great yarns and fibers!

    Thanks for visiting my blog "Calorie Intake Lessons". You know, I don't miss grains. I do miss legumes. I liked beans so much as a child that Dad nicknamed me Bean Queen. I've tried to re-introduce beans 3 times with no success. But, that was BEFORE reading The Plant Paradox program. I now know that I *might* be able to tolerate beans if they are pressure cooked. However, there are some of us with such a high degree of sensitivity to lectins that even pressure cooking them doesn't do it for us. I'm hoping that I will not be one of those people. But, would not be at all surprised if I am. I've had issues with food since birth.

    thanks for your encouragement. I read your bio. a lot of changes, wow. Nova Scotia seems wa-a-y over and wa-a-y up there to me here in California. "Cold" comes to mind. thanks again.
