Slow but steady

I'm new to this whole weight loss thing, so this may take some getting used to. I do have a long term goal, though it too may take a while to get there. I'll probably need some extra motivation, but I know I can achieve it.

Personal Information:
I was born and raised in San Francisco,CA I moved to New Mexico when I was 15 (went to a boarding school that is now a retreat of some sort). I lived in New Mexico from 2001-2007, with the last 2 years going to college. From 2007 to 2014, I lived in Delaware with my late fiance' (who died suddenly in mid-September of 2014). I moved out to Albuquerque at the end of September because there was nothing left there for me. I am thankful that my teacher was able to let me finish my homework online and I'm 2 assignments away from being done. I will graduate in May with my associate's degree in Early Childhood Development.

I'm 28 (and yes, I'm still in college, sadly). I'm new to the whole losing weight/dieting thing (never really have had the motivation to do so til now). It's still taking some getting used to, but I know I can get there.

I love meeting new people and making new friends - especially on here, since every one is so welcoming.

Other Information:
My favorite book series include the Southern Vampire Mysteries and The Princess Diaries (I absolutely love this series, and I recommend it to anyone).

I've been to countless concerts and have met some amazing people in the bands they are in. One of them (which I'm not going to name) I've had the chance to meet and over time have been able to become close friends with a couple of the members. Although we don't stay in touch, I still consider them close friends regardless.

Ahhhhh, Kat. The page disappeared again! I wanted to say you're doing your best and that's great that you recognize that. As for your exercise slump, we all get them. Here's a suggestion, maybe you could try doing something that's been on your mind for one minute. One minute of meditating, stretching, or situps, twists, jumping jacks, walking, yoga or anything else you can think of and then the next day do just one minute again and choose your activity. Let me know if that works.

I'm glad you are keeping up the Board; that's fantastic. Sometimes when we do so well helping others out, we leave ourselves out. If that's happening for you, then it's even more important that you add an element of self care. Do you like relaxing in baths? Make it a Spa moment. Listen to your favourite music and rock out. Make your own facial for your skin type from ingredients at home (google it). Take a nap. I care about you and I need to keep you up so you can continue to have enough of your own steam to be with me and helping this Board that needs us so much. I just starting meditating on something I like, journaling about my experience so far or response to the meditation or the weather. I'm also incorporating re-learning psychology skills for when I need them, which is almost everyday these days emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon Oh, and I wrote a poem!
