I'm a 37 yr old working mom of a 7yr old boy (man I wish I had his energy!)

I have never considered myself overweight, but recently my weight reached it's highest point ever (outside of pregnancy), and I realized I need to get moving again.

I love cycling and like running, and find that one of my biggest motivators is to sign myself up for a race (run, duathlon, triathlon).

I have lost over 10 lbs and 5% body fat. I'm not done, but I realized that I was putting too much emphasis on what the scale was doing. So I've changed my focus to working out and eating right for the next 6 months. I needed to realize that if I am developing healthy habits, then, either the weight will come off...or I will simply be very healthy at a bigger size. Either way I win...and I don't get so mad at the scale that I sabotage myself.

My Goals:
Short Term:
-Complete C25K -DONE! 3/13/11

Long Term:
-Reduce body fat % to under 25%.
-Be able to do a 10km run in 1 hour.
-Finish a sprint tri in under 70 minutes (and NOT be the last to cross the finish line) - DONE! 05/29/11
-The Biking to the Viking ride this summer (160km in 2 days). - DONE! 08/27/11

My Program:
- 2 Cardio classes per week
- 2-3 additional cardio per week (treadmill, 30 Day Shred, Swimming, or Kinect)

-Drink 2-3 litres of water a day
-Track & stay within all nutritional goals (1640-1990 cals/day)

    I never meant my comment as a kick in the ass for you! I just felt your frustration and was reminding myself that the only way to not feel the same is to just do it. You've done so well in the past, I'm sure you'll get through this little hiccup and and be back meeting your goals soon. Go get'em tiger!!! emoticon

    Thank you for the comment on my blog. I'm pretty sure I know what the underlying problems are, although journaling may help me to brainstorm different ways of changing my own reactions. I have a big hangup about journaling after ppl (my mom & an abusive ex) read my journals on 2 separate occasions in the past. I pretty much just use my blog as a journal; even though I'm putting really personal stuff out there, I feel like it's 'safer' on the Internet away from ppl in my real life who can read it and hurt me.
