I'm compiling a list of indulgences when I need that delightful feeling but in a healthy way. Please comment with suggestions!

Simple Pleasures/ Self Soothers:
~~phone a friend for a quick chat (used when I was reaching for an apple/almonds, realized I was not hungry but had the first day of class jitters, called my friend instead of gnawing on the apple to relieve my jitters).
~~take a bath (luxurious and staves off late night eating)
~~Read @ the library (never ...

~~Read @ the library (never done that before. Usually the library is just a quick stop. but I live near enough to go there for 10 minutes while I wait out a craving to see if it's something I really want. Great idea- especially because it's so cold. Thanks Thinronna!).

I also started to weigh in backwards so I don't know how much I weigh at the dietitians. I'm focusing on sticking to my food plan, making sure each meal lasts at least 20 minutes (very challenging for me as I'm always on the go).

So I'm altering my rewards list from 'pounds lost' to sticking to the meal plan 6/7 days of the week or 18/21 meals of the weekly section of the meal plan.

Thank you to all my sparkfriends who are always there for me.

It's almost September- the start of a new year.
This past year was quiet- but altering. I learnt to take a step back, not to overburden my schedule and thereby allow myself to take care of me.

This allowed me to realize a few things. I figured out that I'm going to major in Business (and not double major with education) and then pursue a master degree in Museum Studies/Education.

17.5 pounds to goal. This is the year.

Focusing on talking slowly and clearly as I'll be leading tours.

Joined a gym nearby. Focusing on weight training.
Seeing a nutritionist in October.

My Program:
Food:
Make each meal last 20 minutes.
Notice the textures of food with all 5 senses.
Rate my hunger level before and after each meal.
Meal Plan: 4-5 carbs, 4-5 fats, 3 serving of protein (@3-4 oz), lots of veggies, 100 calorie indulgence.


the constant realization my emotional eating comes from being tired, bored, stressed out and taking steps to rectify these sources instead of just the symptom (eating).

Set an alarm for 10 P.M. to get ready for bed.

Keep on the inspiration from MWF seeking BFF to keep busy

Destressing by relaxing WITHIN exercise: stopping while biking to lay beneath a tree, going on the swings after a walk/jog, journal texting to sort my thoughts. Also by taking charge and doing the things that I'm avoiding (actually study instead of stressing about it...)

Awesome! I love finding people with similar goals! Looks like you're doing the 30 day shred. I almost completed it once, & got really good results with it. I was sooo close to finishing, but I injured my back on one of the side lunge thingys, so do be careful an follow proper form. You might also want to look into her other workouts if you find doing the same one 10 days straight is driving you crazy. Some days I did no more trouble zones and banish fat boost motabolism. (They might still be free on comcast demand in the fitness section I dunno tho, I switched to direct tv). Anyway I got off topic. Good luck I'll be here cheering you on! emoticon
