Amazing - looks like a huge difference in appearance from only 14ish pounds ago in July.





Add about five more pounds or so to me here, and this is me at my highest weight ever.

I don't know how much I'll put here... but to at least introduce myself:

I'm a 36-year-old, single, "orthodox" Jewish woman who lives in Jerusalem, Israel. I'm also a Penguin.

Before I moved to Israel 3 years ago, I had lost more than 70 pounds and gotten into the best shape of my life. I was running regularly, and participating in half marathons and 10K's.

Once deciding I was going to move, I slowly started gaining my weight back. And then I started ...
I don't know how much I'll put here... but to at least introduce myself:

Before I moved to Israel 3 years ago, I had lost more than 70 pounds and gotten into the best shape of my life. I was running regularly, and participating in half marathons and 10K's.

Once deciding I was going to move, I slowly started gaining my weight back. And then I started gaining speed, so that within the 2.5 years, I gained back the 70 and about 10 more of its friends.

Now I'm working on getting back in shape. I haven't started running again yet, but once I get a bit more weight off, I will. I run for the joy of running, and no matter how slowly I run, it's still RUNNING. :)

UPDATE: As of June, 2007, I am running again. I run on the dreadmill at the gym twice a week (that's the only time available to me to run). I'm slowly starting to build my muscles and bones up again on the soft surface, and by early fall I'd like to be running outside again.

UPDATE: As of 31 October, 2007, I am running outside again. I'm not ready to do my long distances outside, but I can and will run once or twice a week outside for my shorter distances.

My Goals:
Lose, again, the 70+ pounds I lost a couple of years ago and gained back.

Get ready to walk/run another marathon.

Ingrain in my head that taking care of the vessel G-d has loaned to me (my body) is just as important as keeping the other mitzvot (commandments) he laid out for me.

My Program:
Joined SparkPeople.

Track food. Eat healthier foods.

Walk to and from work, and anywhere else when possible.

Run on the dreadmill at the gym.

Strength training.

Stay strong, but be flexible -- physically and mentally.

Personal Information:
I live in Jerusalem, Israel. I have a job I don't love, but I love the people I work with.

I used to be a rebel when I wasn't religious. Now I'm a rebel and religious. :)

Everything I am, and everything I do, is by the grace of Hashem.
