Budge the Pudge 2011

disclaimer: i do the no caps thing as it's a lot easier on my hands - if i could figure out a way to not hit the space bar my thumbs would be so happy!

so i do some things right, but not often enough to really achieve the level of fitness & good health i'd like.

i eat well, but too much. i like to exercise, but have trouble finding the time & then i get derailed by injuries (big & small). i am not very consistent with planning meals and getting in workouts.

i've lost 10-12 pounds a year for the last four years, but would like to lose the last 45 or so this year.

You are so right about not buying the "wrong" stuff. I brought 2 bags of dark chocolate Dove's Promises to work. I don't need any of that stuff at all!!!

Thanks for your comment on my "organization blog". I checked out your page and noticed you are relatively new to spark people so I wanted to tell you how much it has helped me.

It looks like you are alot like me...struggling with consistency...and that's exactly what spark people has helped me with...it has helped me build consistent healthy habits...

So...good luck reaching your goals...and I'll pass on one more thing...the nutrition tracking has been key to me...It is more important to log the bad days than the good, because it helps me identify my problem areas & triggers (for me not enough sleep) and has often stopped me from really going overboard...It's also helped me to realize just how easy it is to consume too many calories...

Hope you have great success with spark people!

Just posted a l-o-n-g winded response to your question in swimming for cardio. Short answer - don't let 'em intimate or annoy you. You're doing a great thing for your body, and building up to a mile is a fantastic goal and challenge!
