I will have my 6 year Sparkiversary in June 2018.

My Spark Journey: I found Spark People in June 2012 and started by eating better, followed by adding in a workout plan in September 2012. Overall I lost 30 pounds over the course of the next year (Sept. 2013). I continued to keep the weight off but due to until I started to have foot problems in May 2014. On November 3, 2014 I had serious foot surgery, and throughout the process before and after surgery I gained back the 30 pounds I had lost and gained even more. I was getting back into my fitness routine in the fall of 2015, but then I fell down the stairs on Thanksgiving 2015 so had a broken toe and cracked metatarsal.

My 2017 started really strong and I lost about 6 lbs. Then in March I started having debilitating migraines and headaches, I wasn't active at all from March through May. I saw a neurologist and started taking medication to lessen the migraines.
In the fall of 2017, I tried Noom to jumpstart my way back into healthy eating and exercising. From August to December I was doing well, I started that process at 200 lbs and was down to about 187. The migraines came back in October and November and I switched medications on December 11, I am starting to feel better and get back into my healthy living routine. I’ve dumped Noom, not because it was ineffective, it just didn’t help to keep me as motivated as SparkPoeple.

I am back and ready for the 30 pounds + of weight loss just like I experienced in 2012-13, but even more than that, I look forward to feeling healthy again!

My Goals:
Get in Shape! I want my clothes from the last few years to fit again!

Overall goals:
Interval train at least twice per week. Some form of exercise every day!


My Program:
I'm eating better-which includes no snacking after dinner/before bed. Fruits, vegetables and yogurt as snacks instead of sweets.

At least 6 glasses of water every day, 8 glasses as often as possible.

Exercising a bit every day!



Personal Information:
I live in Milwaukee and love it. I am going to grad school to eventually work in student affairs at a university.

    Thank you SO MUCH for the blog post comment about my December calendar! It's great to hear that you also started your journey on December 1. Feels good to be focused on being healthy instead of totally letting yourself go this month, right?! :) It was so encouraging to hear you say I could compare this to next December 2015 a year from now. I'm SO looking forward to that day that I can finally say, "I DID IT!" and focus on just maintaining a healthy lifestyle instead of being dragged down by all this extra weight.
