I've struggled with my weight since I was in middle school. I lost a lot of weight in high school, gained most of it back in college and when I was 20, lost 70 lbs. for good. Since then, it has been a constant stuggle to maintain and/or loss those last 15 lbs, but I have decided to focus less on weight loss and more on fitness goals that I have set for myself. I've struggled with my weight since I was in middle school. I lost a lot of weight in high school, gained most of it back in college and when I was 20, lost 70 lbs. for good. Since then, it has been a constant stuggle to maintain and/or loss those last 15 lbs, but I have decided to focus less on weight loss and more on fitness goals that I have set for myself. In 2010 I completed the MS150(bike ride from Houston to Austin). When I signed up for it in October 2009 I really wasn't sure if it was someting I would be able to do. I was afraid to even get on a bike- much less wear clip-in shoes that actually attatch your feet to the bike. It was a whole new terrifying, but ultimately positive, experience for me. With lots of training, I was able to cross the finish line in April 2010 and was suprised at how well I did.
Since then I have dabbled with running. Running has always been super difficult for me, but I love a challenge. I've done a few 5k's and a 10k over the past few years. This year I plan to run my first full marathon. The Nike Women's Marathon here in San Francisco. The start line is literally 4 blocks from my apartment, so it's totally meant to be!
