I am a teacher. I wake up ready to go, teach all day, and crash as soon as I get home. Stress and an anxiety disorder have led me to a place where I can get through the week appearing upbeat only if I hibernate through the week-end. I have been crawling into bed Friday afternoon with a pile of books and TV and , except for food and restroom breaks, staying there. I want to reclaim my life, health, and energy level this summer. I've seen a doctor, started a healthy eating plan, and set a goal for exercising. I hope it works!
* spend less time in bed
* exercise daily
* drink more water (which I don't like)
* steadily lose weight (opposed to the steady gaining of the last few years)
I take Paxil and Xanax for anxiety, which I think has slowed down my metabolism. I am getting a weekly B-12 shot.
I am limiting carbs to 115 a day and trying to drink plenty of water.
My husband and I are walking 1.5 miles in the mornings and 1.5 miles in the evenings at least four times a week.
I'm 54 and have been married for 35 years. I have three grown children and four grandchildren. For most of my life, I ate whatever, whenever, as much as I wanted, and guzzled Pepsi without gaining weight. About 45, I experienced a lot of stress, became agoraphobic, etc. - I have gradually almost doubled my size since then. I'm tired of being TIRED!!
