"FREE TO BE THIN" ~~ AGAIN

Back in 1999 I lost 70 pounds on the "Free To Be Thin" program. I have dug up my old notes from my first run with FTBT, and with SparkPeople, hope to do it again.

Personal Information:
My name is Marcus Fine, and I live in Frankfort, Indiana. Back in 1989, I lost 70 pounds, and did it again in 1999. Sorry to say, that I also gained that weight back. Now I am close to 400# and something has to be done. So it is now 2009, and I want to loose at least 125# to bring me to 250. More would be nice. Thanks Spark People, I know I can do this!!!!!

So pleased that you made the decision to hang in there and stay with SparkPeople. This a wonderful community of people helping people as each venture on their personal journey. Plus, if that is not enough SP contains so much information to help you along.

Glad you decided to regroup. We all go through this - one week we are all ready to go and make it happen - then on another week we want to give up.

If losing/mainting weight were easy, everyone would be thin. It's hard, but it says a lot about you if you can make progress and overcome the issue.

It is an issue, and it sucks that some of us just have it to deal with. But, fotunately it "can" be dealt with - and is completely under your control.

Perhaps you can talk to a doctor and look at some options to get you that first big push you need this time around. I see that you lost a lot of the weight a couple of times already...you can do it again.

I am on try #2 myself, but this has to be it. No more chances. You have to say the same thing - this is the last time!

Remember SP is not a diet, just a website you can use for support - that's it. You can read about different topics, track your calories and exercise, but any progress you make is all you.

Commit to stick to trying to 4 months and see what happens. Just try it. Exercise and eat a little less and wait and see. Don't weigh yourself too much...you will see changes in your clothes...

Scales lie a lot of the time due to water retention and other factors. Avoid scales - maybe weigh-in once every 2 weeks or so..

Good luck to you. You did this before - you can do it again. The difference is that this time it's forever.
