Stepping Forward

It's all about taking the next step forward. No matter how tough or easy, no matter if I've slid one or two steps back or not. So long as I keep stepping forward, I know I will get to where I want to be!

Living a healthy life is something that has been important to me for a long time. I've made lots of steps forward in a number of areas already. But...losing weight continues to elude me. I even have a pretty good idea why - portion size (especially at dinner) and nibbling ...

Living a healthy life is something that has been important to me for a long time. I've made lots of steps forward in a number of areas already. But...losing weight continues to elude me. I even have a pretty good idea why - portion size (especially at dinner) and nibbling while I'm cooking. I'm excited about SparkPeople because I see it supporting me in making those last changes to my lifestyle that will bring my physical self into alignment with my ideals.

Okay, so now you know how I'm feeling & my philosophy - a bit more about me as a person. I love to explore the world, experience new cultures & customs, and to meet new people and make new friends. Right now I'm dreaming of moving back to Japan - I loved my life there in the small mountain village where I lived from 2005-2007. And losing this excess weight sticking to me would make life so much more comfortable! I would fit into Japanese-sized bus & train seats and could shop for clothes locally rather than having to order them from the US. Can't wait!

It's all about the 10 minutes! Just promise yourself that you'll do 10 min and then you can leave... then after that 10 min challenge yourself to 10 min more. I hate exercise and when I start with too large of a goal I never go. But 10 min? Who can't do that??

And you know what? Sometimes I DO leave after 10 min but I still feel good, because at least I went.

Lets both promise to do 10 min tomorrow?

Alright.... lol... failing miserably on the meditation and being a good meditation buddy. Shall we try again? I am sure you are doing great! Me? Not so much. TODAY I will start again. I will let you know when I do actually do some meditation.

You see, I am such an active person, even when I am sitting watching TV, I am crocheting or playing Pocket Frogs on my iphone or "doing" something. I love to meditate but getting myself to start it is another task altogether, know what I mean?

How are you doing by the way?

Re: comment on my blog...

They didn't mention it "yet" probably because I already do some meditation. I certainly don't do enough though! I even have a perfect little meditation area set up with special meditation cushions and everything and yet.... sigh.... "Dr. Who" seems to have more draw, lol. Must be that little blue box!

Yes, meditation will help so want to buddy up on getting it as a practice in our lives????

Any ideas on how we can do this and stay motivated?

Thank you for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment. I'm in the very beginning of my journey to reclaim my health, and positive feedback is a great motivator to keep on blogging.

Very cool! When I was down at the Paralounge Drum Festival in Florida they had a Taiko drum workshop and demonstration. I didn't make it to the workshop but did get to watch the demonstration and like wow, yeah, you would need a lot of arm strength. Djembes work out the chest more on the other hand. I usually go to a lot of drumming festivals through out the year but this year I won't be for various reasons but fortunately there are still drumming circles around my area that I can at least get a little drumming in.

I'm not sure where you live now but there are lots of drumming festivals from NY to FL. In fact, there is one going on now at Bonita Springs Florida. It is one of the Hawkfest festivals that I usually attend.

Never expected to find a fellow drummer here at Spark but then, you just never know, lol!!
