Hi, I''m 52 years old and in better shape than I have ever been. I walk at least 4 miles everyday and lift 3 times a week. It is really tough losing any weight. I''m on a low carb diet and the scale is barely moving. I''ve never had a high metabolism and it is even slower now.

I grew up in Joliet, IL and went to school at U of I. I got my Masters at NIU after I had 4 kids and while I was homeschooling them.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I did my hike but was only able to finish 22 out of 28 miles. I sprained my ankle pretty bad two weeks before and almost had to drop out. It was the most painful thing I've experienced (besides child birth :). It took me 3 months to be able to run again and it still gives me odd moments now and again but I am grateful to be able to move and still run.A therapist told me I probably pulled tendons! Yikes. If you have any specific questions, send them my way...I loved the hikes and I loved the outdoors. Biggest thing is gear and dry wick clothes. Makes all the difference. It was too cold and rainy here to do any hikes over the past few months, but it's getting good hiking weather again and I am starting to take my kids with me. Happy hiking!
