Getting a hold of diabetes

I have had diabetes for the last few years and recently the numbers have gone higher. I do not want to have to take insulin so I am trying hard to lose some weight to prevent this and to make my self healthy. I have waited to do this for so long thinking the diabetes would just "go away". I am a happy and fun person but lately my weight has been holding me back. I am starting off on a positive note and hopefully I will be able to succeed to my goal!!!

My Goals:
My goals are to learn portion control, stay healthy, bring down my sugar intake and to walk and exercise daily.

My Program:
I am trying to eat healthy and include exercise into my life daily by doing this I will succeed in bring down my blood sugar to normal ranges.

Personal Information:
My name is Mary and I have just moved to Ohio from California. Boy what a change! I love it here and love the change of seasons. I am not to sure about winter, we have to see how this one goes!

Other Information:
I am a type 2 diabetic. I am on the verge of having to take insulin. I need help and encouragement to work a program. I want to learn what is okay to snack on...I am a snacker and that is my downfall.

i was told that if my blood sugars were in control that all these foods listed for diabetes are free. these includes: celery, cherry tomatoes 10 cal not BUT IF THE CARBS ARE MORE THAN 10 I have to count the carbs.

radishes sugar free gelatins
onion (in moderation) Jam/jellies 1 tbsp
cucumbers syrup SF 2 tbsp
all lettuces spreadable fruits (100 fruit%)
spinach 1 tbsp.
Mustard 1 tbsp Bamboo shoots, canned
Salsa (all kinds) 1 tbsp Celery
Taco sauces 1 tbsp peppers(green,red,yellow)
zucchini pickles 1 dill
cream cheese ff 1 tbsp mayo ff 1 tbsp
mayo reduced fat 1 tsp salad dressing ff/low car 1 tbsp
salad dress ff italian 2 tbsp whip topping ff 2tbsp
whip topping regular 1 tbsp. spinach

most sugar substitutes are free.

seasonings and herbs.

there are many free foods just google them up.
