Powerlifting Mom

I started here at SparkPeople weighing 227 pounds and have learned many hard lessons over the past 3 years of losing some of that weight. And some good lessons about who I want to be.

So I'm at 180 pounds now, have been in the 175-180 range for a couple of years. The scale hasn't meant much to me. I've been consistently working on my strength and the only numbers that have mattered are the numbers I'm putting on the barbell. People keep telling me I look like I'm losing weight, ...

So I'm at 180 pounds now, have been in the 175-180 range for a couple of years. The scale hasn't meant much to me. I've been consistently working on my strength and the only numbers that have mattered are the numbers I'm putting on the barbell. People keep telling me I look like I'm losing weight, and that means I'm building muscle and losing fat. That's the plan.

This year my hubby and I will compete in our first powerlifting meet.

My goal is to work down to the 165lb class, but doing so without losing alot of strength. This takes more time and I'm fine with it. Long haul, baby, not quick fixes.

Love music and reading! My itunes runs near constantly all day, primarily rock, though I enjoy a variety of music. Mostly Rock, Jazz and Alternative. I'm always rocking out to my daily chores.

Well, way to go! Sounds like you had a great race. I think I may want to do Savannah again someday. I did six HMs this year. Now it is time to regroup and rehab. I'm not a young chickie anymore - LOL If we are down there in time this year, I may do the Critz Tybee half. You? Keep in touch.

Hi Misty, from edwardsc393, Cherie. You have don,t absolutely fab. I,m not a runner, but I do like lifting. Now I,ll have to walk on the bad ft next wk, with a boot cast on! Need to get energy tho! I love better bodies, and interacting with them. and now you too! Some things you can,t say on FB. I just plan on maintaining my weight for now, but I know I,ve lost muscle....but it has memory! Love to hear from you!
