Mistresslane's Journey

Hi my name's Nicole and I have been on a weight loss journey most of my life. I started being overweight at 11, and was told it was puppy fat, but boy were they wrong!!!

Every year after that I either maintained or gained but I wasnt eating healthy, if I was eating at all, and it finally caught up to me.

In 2005- 2006 (age 19/20) I had gall bladder stones, then became pregnant and delivered my first daughter with gall bladder stones!!!

Every year after that I either maintained or gained but I wasnt eating healthy, if I was eating at all, and it finally caught up to me.

In 2005- 2006 (age 19/20) I had gall bladder stones, then became pregnant and delivered my first daughter with gall bladder stones!!!

Then the following year in 2007 I had surgery and was pregnant with my second child during that surgery for the gall bladder removal. I didnt know this at the time though, and thankfully the baby was all right but because of surgery and pregnancy, 2007 was my year of hell healthy wise. I ended up back in the hospital with complications because they didnt remove all the stone, and then consequently created a deep vein thrombosis (blood clot) in my leg, and a Pulmonary embolism (another blood clot) in my lungs!!

I was rushed in to the hospital where I stayed for almost 2 weeks and was in and out of the hospital until the early (2 months early) delivery of my second child. My body and emotional self were at an all time low.

I was at around 200 pounds after the delivery of that child and due to the bad healthy I balooned up to 225 that following year. Septemeber 2008 on my 23rd birthday I decided I'd had enough. I consequently changed everything in my lifestyle. And as I started slimming up I started getting rid of the thing sin my life that were negative influences.

I left my abusive spouse, I made new friends, moved and got back into education. I am now returning home to america, after 4 years in the UK, and I am almost lighter than when I first came here! I'm now down to 170 pounds, 12.4 stone in UK terms, and I am just excited about life. I am starting a wedding business in utah when I get there, and I am helping my family with businesses as well (floral shop and a welding business). I have mroe confidence and energy every day. I bought the spark and am reading it, and I love the sparkpeople website. It is eaxctly what i needed to kickstart my fitness to a new personal level.

I am a happier healthy yummy mummy!!!!

My Goals:
My goals are to Ride a bicycle again.
To see my abs, (heck to have them!!)
To wear a bikini before I die!!!!
To learn to ride a horse and have the stamina for it.
To learn to skii and have the leg strength for it.
To be healthier longer for my kids.
To keep up with my 4 year old and 2 years old who are bundles of energy all day long from 6 am to 8 pm!
To create a commitment to myself that I can be proud of. To follow through with that commitment to myself, to goal setting and beyond!

To be able to sit in a seat and not spill over it.

My Program:
Ok I've changed my program a bit as i get more knowledgable about what works for me!
Mon- JM work out (st/C)
Tues - Belly dance (cardio)
Wed - JM work out (St/C)
Thurs- Belly Dance (cardio)
Friday- JM work out
Saturday - Walk/Park/Play with kids/ jump rope/trampoline/swimming ect. (anyhting i dont normally do!)

Personal Information:
Hello! I am a single mother who is moving to Utah to be near family in August. I started my journey in 2008 at 225 pounds. After one year I was down to 180, and now I am at 170. I tried all sorts of fad diets and calorie counting sites but eventually have settled on the spark way of life. And I am now reading the book and incorperating it into my life!

Mon Tues Wed is good. Once you begin to become stronger or the Shred starts to ease up on you then throw in a 2nd level on your Shred days. Strive to always beat YOUR personal best. Always do what you can do, but push...don't over do it though. It takes time to build strength, endurance and flexibility so take your time, watch your body change and you will start seeing results on a more consistent basis. Never skip any workout days. Never try to miss one. I hope this helps!!!! You can do it!!!
