I think I finally scared some sense into myself. I've been gradually increasing in weight since I hit my teens. Now that I'm in my mid-20's and am facing random health issues, I've decided to conquer this plague that's been affecting me for years.
I think I've used every excuse imaginable to avoid exercise over the years. I have homework. I'm writing. It's boring. Won't it mess up my hair? I hate sports.
I'M SICK OF MAKING EXCUSES FOR MYSELF!!!
So, I've decided to finally rededicate my life. It's time that I work on me and get myself together. It's time that I find ways to get moving and stay motivated to do so. It's time that I find and create meals that are healthy, filling and delicious. It's time that I focus on getting myself together: physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.

I'm originally from Southern Maryland. After finishing high school and disliking where I started college, I transferred to Michigan State. I have since moved to Houston and back to Southern Maryland.
While I am an avid fan of sports, I was never a participant (which, in hindsight, may have helped me avoid the mess I'm in now). I love being silly and having a good time. I love chatting and occasionally playing video and board games with others.

Welcome to 50+ pounds to lose - Phase one! Please take a minute to look at my sparkpage and read my blogs. It's hard to welcome the 100 or so new members each day, and in a team of 64,000+ members it's hard to keep a nice organized board! :-) But as team leaders, we are trying really hard.
I tell all the new members to take a minute and read Thread #1, it explains posting and where to post. Then, take a minute to read the F.A.Q. (Frequently Asked Questions) thread - as you look around the boards, you will have questions, and we try to answer them in that thread. Last, introduce yourself in the WELCOME! Thread. Once you've done that, start using the 20 or so main threads so we can all get to know you. Most of the membership doesn't read any new threads, because they have unsubscribed from them due to the high volume. But if you want the most bang for your buck, the main threads are the place to be!
We also encourage posting responses to new threads in the main threads. Just post in the new thread that you've posted a response in the appropriate main thread so the conversation can shift where more people can see it.
