Weight 250 June 2008- join Weight Watchers weight 248 Sept. 1, 2008- quit Weight Watchers weight 216 Sept. 5, 2008- find and join Spark People, do it for 1 day, then forget about it. weight 215 January 5, 2009- weight 225, remember Spark People and decide to get active March 30, 2009- enter Onederland and say goodbye to the 200's forever! weight- 199 April 20, 2009- Goal Met! I walked Buster until he was tired, the walk was 4+ miles and 80 minutes long! WooHoo, I'm more fit then a three year old rottweiler, haha May 30 2009- buy my first size 12 (have never been a 12 as an adult until now) weight 180 June 23 2009- reach first goal weight! WooHoo! 175! June 29 2009- lost 75 pounds, wow that's a big number. August 2 2009- lost 80 pounds! WooHoo! weight 168 September 15 2009- size 10!!! Weight 164...Okay the scale hasn't been moving down much lately, but those size 10s are telling me the inches are still coming off, only 4 pounds in the last 5 weeks, but a whole pants size down with those 4 little pounds ) September 18 2009- become a sparkpeople motivator :) Sweet! September 21 2009- reach second goal weight! WooHoo! 160! October 5 2009- size 8!!! Weight 160. Another pants size down with only a 4 pound loss... I don't get it, but I'll take it :) October 27 2009- have lost 10" off waist, 9" off hips, and 2" off neck since February '09! Wow- makes me wish I had taken measurements in June 08' when I started this. December 19 2009- Goal Met! Ran my first 5k! January 5 2010- Goal Met! No more nicotine addiction. My first day off the quit smoking gum and nicotine free. September 2010 update- have gained 19 pounds back to reach 172 and am smoking again, dang. I'm determined to put my health first again an tackle the weight and smoking... one thing at a time. September 22 2010- back in the 160's! October 16 2010- placed 2nd in my division in the Fall Fest 5k!!! Novenber 3 2010- Goal met!!! 10 miles in 2 hours! December 16 2010- first 10k! finishing time 1:10:38 2011- First half marathon! finishing time 2:27:12 September 2012 update- had a baby in July! I had a complicated pregnancy with no exercise allowed and delivered a healthy baby boy via c-section. Needless to say I've gained and lost tons of muscle... time to start again. weight 204 * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * a reminder to myself of how far I've come- positive things I've done during this journey that I couldn't before it and negative things that are no longer happening. I'm just going to add these as I notice or accomplish them: - walk my daughter to school and back (.5 mile each way) - climb the stairs at home quickly without getting winded - tie my shoes easily and comfortably (and straight on the top) - walk to the river and back (1 mile each way) - smile a real smile in photos (not a strained sucking it in smile) - fit in any restaurant booth easily and not feel like everyone else in the place is looking at me or judging my plate - pogo stick with Bryn (and not be over the weight limit) - no longer bottom out the boat at the shallow launch at Big Flats! - no longer breaking a sweat when doing a long hair blow out at work - walk 5 miles - jump rope (for 30 minutes!) - do child's pose (yoga) with my knees together- woohoo, just when I was starting to feel like the belly was never going to shrink- never say never! - swim a half mile nonstop - wear a tank top in public (and shorts too!) - wear an apron instead of a smock at work and not worry about how big my rear looks in it :P - jog! no seriously- I can jog , and pain free at that - see me in photos- not my chins, not my gut, not my thighs or my butt, just me :) - hike in the forest and climb the jetty rocks at the coast for as long as my hubby and kiddo can (and sometimes longer, woohoo) -jog 2 miles in 30 minutes. Not fast for most- but it's a big accomplishment for me! -wear a skirt with no spanx (oh how I hate the spanx) - play sports with my daughter. Not just half a** play for a few minutes... really play with her! -ran a 5k (3.2 miles) in 30 minutes! - I don't recognise the people working the McDonalds drive thru window anymore! Yay for that one! -climb a tree (with ease and balance) and just hop out of it with no problem, never thought I'd do that in my adult life -run 8 miles! (just as exciting as the first time I walked more then one!) -run 12 miles! -run half marathon * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

-eat healthy and be active (goal being reached daily) -be able to walk my dogs until they're tired, not vice versa (goal reached! 4/20/09) -never again use my size as an excuse for not doing or trying something -175 pounds by July 2009 (goal reached! 6/24/09) -160 pounds by October 2009 (goal reached! 9/21/09) -run a 5k (goal reached! December 19, 2009- finishing time 30:48!) -quit smoking (started the nicorette program October 12, 2009. First day 100% nicotine free January 5, 2010!) edit: dang- started smoking again July 2010- dangit October 12, 2010 started the nicorette program again- only lasted a week. February 4 2011- gonna try this again) -run a 10k (goal reached! December 16, 2011 finishing time 1:10:38) -run 10 miles November 3 2010 (goal met- 2 hours!) -run a half marathon (goal reached May 14, 2011) -r
My Program:
My original program until first weight goal of 175 -eat between 1200-1550 calories a day -work out 20 minutes 3 times a week -be active on sparkpeople.com (tracking, blogging, etc.) ................................. My new program as I near the size/weight I'll maintain- -listen to my body -eat when I'm hungry- don't when I'm not -eat at least 5 servings of fruit/veggies a day -pay attention to portion sizes -do some sort of cardio 5 times a week - do some sort of strength/resistance 3 times a week -continue being active on Spark, it has given me my health and my life back (thank you Spark and fellow Sparkers)
