One step at a time <3

Two years ago I took up running. I loved it. I got to where I was running 4-6 miles a day; some days it was harder than others. But then life happened, and I got away from it. I'm just now starting to pick it back up & I'm surprised that I haven't completely lost all of my endurance. Two years ago I took up running. I loved it. I got to where I was running 4-6 miles a day; some days it was harder than others. But then life happened, and I got away from it. I'm just now starting to pick it back up & I'm surprised that I haven't completely lost all of my endurance. My long term goal is to be healthy, fit & active, along with lose some inches from my waist line. The short term goals that are going to get me there include running (& eventually incorporate weight-training...even though I HATE it) & indulging in a healthier diet. I would like to learn to eat for my body instead of my tastebuds (so much harder than it sounds). For now, I'm eating a healthy breakfast & lunch with modest snacking, and still indulging in dinner. I'd like to learn some healthy, low calorie, recipes & slowly begin incorporating them into my dinner plans. I gave up chocolate for 7 months in 2012 & didn't lose a single pound (even though I ate chocolate twice a day on average!). So I've decided instead of giving up on everything, I'm going to A) offset it with working out harder or B) control portions & limit intake to once every few days. And let me tell you, after spending 45minutes on the elliptical to burn off three cookies....I was pretty head-strong on never touching a cookie again :)

I recently changed my TICKER to read fitness minutes. It starts at zero on the first of the month and is a constant challenge (for all to see) about meeting the goal by the end of the month.
emoticon I recommend this highly! Come visit my page to see this in action
