It's My time

I am a 44 year old single mother of two. They are grown now and it's my time to move forward with my life. While I grew up thin and very active I spent my adult life overweight. After my divorce I gained even more weight, eating my loneliness.

That all changed when my family came to visit me two years ago. After laughing all night with my aunt and spending quality time with my sisters, I realized just how blessed I am. I have so much to be thankful for; a job in the middle of a recession, a home I like, family who loves and cares for me and my greatest gift of all, two sons, the sweetest, funniest, drove me crazy, boys in the world. I will not waist another moment of this life (you only get one) worrying about a love I don't have, when I have so much love around me.

Now I can say, Cake is no longer a food group and I do not curl up each night with such lovers as butter pecan and rocky road. I am happier and healthier now than I have been in the past 20 years. And I must say that for the past year I have been a member of the spark community and this has been one great year. I am learning and growing so much. I am proud of what I have accomplished so far and happy to be a part of this community.

I think when your maintaining your weight, that is when it's good to weigh in day to day. Until you reach an agreement that, that is where you want to be. Maybe once a week after that. I think after a couple of years, a person can know what they can and cannot eat, that would put weight back on. And if they are trying to beef up, and gain muscles, that weight is going to flux as well.

What about those egg substitutes? I am allowed 3 eggs a week through my Dr. I am working on bringing cholesterol numbers down, so between that and poultry it really goes up. And I know there is a difference of good vs bad. But I still think moderation of any thing is key.
