I am a mother of four very active teen and pre-teen boys. I work full time as a healthcare revenue consultant and try to manage a very busy household of 7 people with vastly different life and work schedules.

Weight loss has been a considerable challenge due to having lost my thyroid to radiation many years ago. I am struggling to find a diet that works for my slow metabolism and also accounts for my new alpha-gal food allergies of mammalian meat and wheat thanks to a Lone Star Tick bite this year. It is a struggle to learn what I can and can't eat and find alternates for what used to be my favorites. I am also working on developing a good, consistent exercise routine that I can stick to both at home and while out on the road in hotels.

My goal is to improve my health while teaching my children (and my husband) better eating and exercise habits. My 10 year old is overweight and pre-diabetic so we are on this road of recovery together.

I love walking and have found an exercise video that combines yoga, pilates and ballet that I enjoy. I also love kickboxing and swimming.

Life is moving at a much calmer pace these days even with around 50% travel for work, but I am sticking closely to my goals. I am going to be healthier, enjoy life more and remove negative influences from around me and my family.

This year is focused on healthier eating habits, reducing debt, and enjoying life. Most of all, it is focused on healing, with God's help day by day.

My Goals:
To eat healthier, move more, and grow spiritually. To be a better mother, sister, wife, and friend. To make a difference in the world and to teach my children to help and respect others.

My Program:
As someone with hypothyroid, I am focusing on complex carbs, lean fish, turkey and chicken, fresh vegetables and fruit, and low fat dairy. I am increasing my fiber intake and water intake.

I do yoga, bellydancing, and I walk as often as I can.

Personal Information:
I live in Tennessee. I am a Christian and my family is my world. My goal is for all of us to be healthier this year.

Other Information:
I am a fan of movies about older times (like Pride and Prejudice, Emma, Sense and Sensibility) and superheroes or fantasy (Fantastic Four, Harry Potter, Twilight).

Music is my passion. I love songs that reach out and touch you, songs that make you feel what the writer felt. If a song makes me laugh, cry or get angry, then it quickly becomes my favorite. My favorite singer is and always will be the amazing Patsy Cline.
