I joined the 5% 2017 Spring Challenge. Go Awesome A's!! I commit to at least 300 minutes of exercise weekly. I haven't been very active the last six months. It's time to shake it up again! I will stay within my calorie range daily. I had been working with a different nutritionist, and my food plan is based on her recommendations. I will get back on that track again. It includes eating much more protein daily. I will support my team by logging my fitness minutes and LTGL points daily, weigh-in on Saturday's, and check in with my teammates daily through group posts and their blogs, offering encouragement where I can. I look forward to a successful 8 week challenge!!!

I have been a member of Spark People since March of 2010. My commitment level has varied from day/week/month, but I have continued the journey. I know that losing the weight is just part of the equation. Every day is about making better choices than the day before, and choosing the healthiest option available. Also, trying to find the balance and keep it all in moderation.

I hit my initial goal weight in early 2011, and then revised it to the middle of my normal BMI. I was within 9 pounds of the revised goal, when I had some injuries that side-lined me. Replaced some old unhealthy habits with some new unhealthy habits, and packed on the pounds over the next year. Then came 2013. I was exercising like a fiend, at least 4000 calories per week in cardio alone, and staying within calorie range. The weight just kept piling on. After my doctor ran a bunch of tests, an auto-immune disease was diagnosed. I worked with a nutritionist, my doctor referred me to, for a few months to help with a manageable eating plan. I am committed to getting back on track by eating healthier, living a more active lifestyle, and regular exercise. So my mantra is "One choice at a time." I can do this!!!

My name is Margie ( hard g) I was born and raised in Montana. My husband was in the military so I have lived in several states throughout the years, we were in Southern CA from 1991 until Sept. 2016, and just moved to Idaho in time for winter!
