I joined the 5% 2016 Winter Challenge. I commit to at least 500 minutes of cardio exercise weekly. I have made some changes to my exercise routine this go around. I am taking at least 3 yoga classes per week, aqua aerobics twice per week, and a couple of other fitness classes. I am walking a couple of times per week with a friend, and almost daily with my husband. Committing to strength training twice per week for now. I will stay within my calorie range daily. I joined the 5% 2016 Winter Challenge. I commit to at least 500 minutes of cardio exercise weekly. I have made some changes to my exercise routine this go around. I am walking a couple of times per week with a friend, and almost daily with my husband. Committing to strength training twice per week for now. I will stay within my calorie range daily. I have been working with a different nutritionist, and my food plan is based on her recommendations. I am eating much more protein daily, and am seeing some good results. I will support my team by logging my fitness minutes and LTGL points daily, weigh-in on Saturday's, and check in with my teammates daily through group posts and their blogs, offering encouragement where I can. I look forward to a successful 8 week challenge!!!
I have been a member of Spark People since March of 2010. My commitment level has varied from day/week/month, but I have continued the journey. I know that losing the weight is just part of the equation. Every day is about making better choices than the day before, and choosing the healthiest option available. Also, trying to find the balance and keep it all in moderation.
I hit my initial goal weight in early 2011, and then revised it to the middle of my normal BMI. I was within 9 pounds of the revised goal, when I had some injuries that side-lined me. Replaced some old unhealthy habits with some new unhealthy habits, and packed on the pounds over the next year. Then came 2013. I was exercising like a fiend, at least 4000 calories per week in cardio alone, and staying within calorie range. The weight just kept piling on. After my doctor ran a bunch of tests, an auto-immune disease was diagnosed. I worked with a nutritionist, my doctor referred me to, for a few months to help with a manageable eating plan. I am committed to getting back on track by eating healthier, living a more active lifestyle, and regular exercise. So my mantra is "One choice at a time." I can do this!!!
