Mindful of the journey!

I joined the 5% 2015 Spring Challenge. As the Motivational Leader of the Awesome A Team, I commit to at least 500 minutes of cardio exercise weekly, along with additional strength training. I will get at least 10,000 steps in 5 out of 7 days. I will stay within my calorie range daily. My plan is based around food allergies, but I try to balance protein/fat/ and carb nutrients and try to eat more veggies than meat. My plan is based around food allergies, but I try to balance protein/fat/ and carb nutrients and try to eat more veggies than meat. I will support my team by logging my fitness minutes and LTGL points daily, weigh-in on Saturday's, and check in with my teammates daily through group posts and their blogs, offering encouragement where I can. I look forward to a successful 8 week challenge!!!

I have been a member of Spark People since March of 2010. My commitment level has varied from day/week/month, but I have continued the journey. I know that losing the weight is just part of the equation. Every day is about making better choices than the day before, and choosing the healthiest option available. Also, trying to find the balance and keep it all in moderation.

I hit my initial goal weight in early 2011, and then revised it to the middle of my normal BMI. I was within 9 pounds of the revised goal, when I had some injuries that side-lined me. Replaced some old unhealthy habits with some new unhealthy habits, and packed on the pounds over the next year. Then came 2013. I was exercising like a fiend, at least 4000 calories per week in cardio alone, and staying within calorie range. The weight just kept piling on. After my doctor ran a bunch of tests, an auto-immune disease was diagnosed. I worked with a nutritionist, my doctor referred me to, for a few months to help with a manageable eating plan. I am committed to getting back on track by eating healthier, living a more active lifestyle, and regular exercise. So my mantra is "One choice at a time." I can do this!!!

emoticon Today's words of wisdom for thought come from Lucille Ball:

"Love yourself first and everything else falls into line. You really have to love yourself to get anything done in this world."

I thought this was a good one since today we were talking about treating yourself as your own best friend at Weight Watchers. Have a Terrifically Thankful Thursday being thankful for YOU! emoticon emoticon

Good morning my friend. Here's wishing you a Terrific Tuesday! Today's quote is by John Wooden:

"Things work out best for those who make the best of how things work out. "

So, here's to making the best of all things in your life! emoticon emoticon

emoticon Here's a quote for you about Mondays by an unknown source:

Hello, Monday. May I ask you a question? Why are you always back so quickly? Don’t you have a hobby?"

May your Monday pass quickly! Hugs
