Hello,
I just graduated from college in June. I gained a lot of weight over my college years, between lack of time and money to eat right, and falling into depression, as well as a bout of sciatica which made exercise (and life) painful. I also stopped doing a lot of activities I enjoyed, and seeking happiness in the world around me.

Now I've decided to try to get my life back under control, and start making choices to become happier and healthier. I'm still struggling a lot ...

My Goals:
* Lose weight
* Have more energy
* Feel good about myself
* Get confidence back
* Be healthy
* Be fit and strong
* Strengthen muscles to relieve back/neck pain

My Program:
I'm trying to eat healthy and gradually cut portion sizes, and I'm attempting to work up to calorie counting. I've cut out all corn syrup and cut back on refined sugars. I try to eat natural foods with no synthetic preservatives or artificial flavors. I'm also vegetarian.

I'm trying to exercise gently every day (yoga, pilates, walking, stretching), and more intensely 2-3 times a week (Zumba, dance, hiking, biking).

Personal Information:
I'm an Oregon native!

I enjoy outdoor exercise like hiking, biking, canoeing, rafting, walking, and more. I also love Ballroom, Swing, and Latin dancing. I'm beginning to get into yoga.

I don't like high-impact cardio like jogging, running, or jumping (bad knee), so I'm always on the lookout for fun low impact cardio! Feel free to brainstorm with me!

I have a cat I love to bits.

I am a vegetarian.

I'm six feet tall.

I know calorie counting is a pain but I didn't really find any success until I did it. What has happened over time is being aware of comparative calorie content I began making better choices.
I think if I was a vegetarian I'd be golden. Red Meat is my biggest downfall. Your eating preference should really help you on your way to success!!!
