A new beginning!

I'm a 49-year old single mom of 2 teenagers; we live in a rural area where we can have our pets and our horses. A dream finally come true! I also reached another goal - I quit smoking on Dec 4, 2011. Was a smoker for most of my adult life.

I have tried to lose the weight I gained since Dec 2011 but it seems impossible to do. Food just tastes SOOOO good! Granted, peri-menopause is kicking in, but still - I should be able to lose something! So I'm hoping that this site can ...

My Program:
I am limiting my caloric intake, I've given up all wheat (and it's not that hard!) and I try to exercise... now that's not that easy!

Personal Information:
Currently living on the outskirts of Ottawa (North Gower) with my 2 teenagers, 2 horses, 2 dogs and 2many cats..

I'm a die-hard animal lover (which is why we have too many cats) - I should start a shelter!

I work for the federal government (12 yrs at the same job).

Other Information:
I love to read murder-mysteries, watch romantic movies, and just relax at home.

Happy Thursday! The difference between ‘try’ and ‘triumph’ is just a little umph! I hope you are keeping your eyes set on your goal and working towards it. The groundwork of all happiness is health, When you’re healthy, you’re happy. When losing weight, improving your health should always be your first goal, because good health will see you through to the end. Weight loss through diet and exercise is tough, it does get hard, but when you exert every ounce of will power and self control, you will persevere.

Well it is the end of another week. Enjoy the weekend and relax a bit! I know that this time of year people have some spouts of seasonal depression, and it makes us want to eat things that make us happy, most of those foods are not healthy. Stay on track with your goal and know we are not alone in this, many struggle with depression eating. And with Holidays it is hard to turn away from all the good foods being prepared as tradition. But with will power and faith we can do it. Think small portions, And if you must have the sweet taste that is full of unhealthy calories, taste is the key word. Keep strong, keep on pressing to your goal! emoticon emoticon

Well the weekend is here. Let us not forget that we need the rest from a stressful week. But do not loose focus of our goals. Keep on eating healthy and drinking the water. But have fun on the weekends, there is lots of fun activities that we can do that still promotes weight loss. Have a Blessed weekend! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
