Well, i'm 37 years old, and found sparkpeople last year when I needed to look presentable in a Maid of Honor Dress for my best friend's wedding. I lost weight (never made it to my ultimate goal, though) got into the dress, and then started slipping, here and there, then everywhere. I am back to just 10 lbs under my starting weight from LAST time!
Now nothing fits. The other day when we were doing laundry, my oldest daughter said, "Who wears size 15?" with an incredulous tone. I'm sure the look I shot at her would have killed most people, but thankfully she's resilient.
Today, my youngest got her braces off, and feels like a butterfly coming out of a cocoon....I want to feel like THAT again! So I thought, and finished drinking my SECOND Honey Latte....
SO here I am, I realized what worked for me before was being accountable to at least myself. Back to journaling I go. Drinking my water, bringing my lunch. And yes, trying to remember how to exercise, and I vaguely recall thinking that after a while of doing it, I kind of liked it.
I'm aiming high, down to 135 by my birthday this year. 45 lbs in 6 months.
Honestly, I'd be happy with 145 at this point. 35 lbs in 6 months. 1.25 lbs a week, right?
What worked before is where I need to go! That was Journaling EVERYTHING. My weight watchers cookbooks, meal planning, drinking all my water, and getting off my big butt and getting moving!
I grew up as an air force brat in the midwest, mostly in Nebraska. I currently live in the Puget Sound area of Washington. I'm a full time nurse, a wife and mom to two year-round soccer playing kids. I love to cook (if there was only more time in a day) an I was a WW @ work girl, till they didn't re-up. I did very well with it then, but many things happened, and all that I lost and more found their way back. I am working hard to make my crockpot my new best friend.

Hi MissRed ... Sorry I missed you when you first joined NutriSpark ... you must have come in while I was on vacation in July - August. So, how are things going for you with NS foods? The program isn't for everyone, but I love it. I enjoy the food, and it works well for me since I work evenings so am never home when my family eats dinner, am sleeping when they eat breakfast, and am on my own for lunch as well since they are either at work or school.
I'm guessing your AF Brat time in NB was at Offutt AFB; what other midwest bases were you at? I'm an Army Brat, born in a navy hospital who made the air force a career. I guess I shouldn't be surprised my son is taking about joining the marines!
