Hi,
My name is Mary Ann. I am a retired 68 year old happily married woman who lives in Missouri. We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary in Sept. 2008 by renewing our vows in church involving all the kids & grand kids in the festivities. I had always been sorry that I didn't have a church wedding the first time so my husband & I decided to do it up big with the works on our fiftieth. I almost felt like a young bride finding a dress, making our invitations and planning the menu for our big party at the Elks lodge. It was so much fun but oh did it cost a lot of money !!!

Over the years of marriage, having four babies, & just life in general, I have gained a lot of excess weight.

I probably have spent a few years of salary trying new diets & even pills trying to lose the baggage.
It only lasted a short while & the lbs. always come back.
Weight watchers didn't work for me because I was too precise with eating just the right numbers or most of the time not eating enough.

My trouble is getting down on myself for eating something I shouldn't, then feeling so guilty I just say "to heck with it I'm not going to change" & eat everything I'm not supposed to anyway.

For example, I was doing very well before Easter, losing 7 lbs. since joining spark people. Went to Ca. for a week & didn't do bad there, but since gaining 4 lbs. Easter day, I can't seem to get back on track. It wasn't like I ate all day long either, One plate of ham & trimmings, sampled a small piece of 3 desserts. I just must stay on a meal plan of three meals a day I think.

Anyway I'm here now writing this to try to get myself motivated to start this great program again... Am hoping for a lot of support from you out there who have been down this road before & know how I feel...

Well you have found your program and the people to support you.

It is easier when you are not fighting the battle alone.

Start with small changes and work your way up.
See if you can drink things with 0 calories, this will save you a lot of calories , JUST by itself.
Drink water, this will help flush out the fat.

You can do it, You can do it. emoticon

    Follow Your Dream
    by Amanda Bradley

    Follow your dream.
Take one step at a time and don't settle for less,
    Just continue to climb.
    Follow your dream.
If you stumble, don't stop and lose sight of your goal
    Press to the top.
For only on top can we see the whole view,
    Can we see what we've done and what we can do;
Can we then have the vision to seek something new,
    Press on.
    Follow your dream.
