Me in my new jeans (the reward for making my target!) at 139lbs. Nearly there ... just 2-3 lbs to go
And the all-important rear view
Salome and Jezebel, my two cats
I came here hoping to lose quite a lot of weight put on gradually over the last 10 years. Starting weight was 173lbs and I'm hoping to get that down to somewhere between 140 and 147 lbs.
Update, February 2012: So I made it to 140lbs (yarooks!) and I find I still need to lose perhaps 3 or 4 more pounds to be utterly svelte. So I'm going to try to do this over the next 3-4 months.
March 2012: I buy a pair of cheap jeans that fit me (because all my others are now falling off, quite literally!) Vanity picture to the left at 139lbs.
I need to drink way less, eat more and more healthily and start doing some regular exercise ...
I like walking, so I am trying to walk every day. Ok, most days :wry grin:
I've really cut back on drinking and find I don't really miss it. I use the tracker religiously at the moment to keep in my calorie range and make sure I'm eating in a balanced way. I find the tracker really useful.
I live in England, a small, wet, misty island off the coast of Europe :-) I'm not working at the moment and my husband is hoping to retire in just a few years. When we are both retired, we hope to travel around Europe in a motor home. Can't wait!
I enjoy reading, films, theatre, playing computer games. None of which is any good for keeping fit or losing weight (!)
However, I'm a keen walker but it's not something I like to do alone. Luckily my husband likes to walk too ...

Saw your huddle that you reached a goal. You are doing a fantastic job. Have a good rest of the week and keep up the good work.

Thanks. Yes, that line is a bit of a mantra for me some days! Agreed; often I just take a GIANT deep breath and move along, but that particular comment thread was a bit 'special' shall we say.
Congratulations on the fantastic job you're doing! The bat has flown right off the end of your tracker!

31 pounds, that's great! I'm so happy for you.
English Weather, yeah we are having some warm and cold weather here.
We call it the flu weather, it's never the same. One week we got short weather, the next week we got double up on clothing weather. It's crazy, and the weather was nice yesterday and today. We had a little rain, but the weather outside was still great for hitting a few golf balls with the hubby.

You're welcome. I love making people laugh. Yes, food is the big key to losing weight. We sometimes don't eat enough, and when we thing we ate too much, at times we find out we didn't eat enough again. Yes, I know food is going to help with the fit of the jeans. I'm a joker, and I like to look at the sunny side of things. Sue, is a real person at the gym, and we all talk about her weight all the time. She's losing it -like crazy. One girl said. Did you call Jenny? One girl goes. Are you on the HUDSON? Weight Watchers.. That's what we call it at the gym. And another girl said. Are you super active 24/7 or what? What gives here with you?
Sue goes. No! I'm 40, and I'm sick of these 40 pounds. My goal is to lose these 40 pounds before I turn 41. A great way to look at life, and then she said. I only get my weight here at the gym. I leave the gym and call that loss a lair-lair, go home and try on my jeans and say. Jeans on fire and slap my butt.. LOL!
Then she goes, the only numbers I reply on is the number is sewn into my jeans.
And I put me being in a size 6 my 40 lbs loss... A size 6. Now, I need to look at things like Sue; because she is on to something GOOD..
Thank you for your comment on my blog, and how's the weather....
