I'm a single mom to a wonderful little girl . I have always struggled with my weight, but since having my daughter 3.5 years ago, the struggle has become more intense. It seems no matter how hard I try, i just can't lose any weight. I will have a few good weeks where I lose 1-2 pounds, but then I'll have a week where I gain 3-4 pounds and all my efforts seem pointless. I then become discouraged and just give up.

I work full time and care for my daughter 100% of the time. So, I get very little time to myself. I am fortunate enough to work for a company that has an onsite gym and offers lunch time fitness classes. I take advantage of all that my schedule allows. On a good week, I do 5-6 group exercise classes. On a not so good week, I average about 3. My regimen includes basic strength, high intensity interval training, kickboxing, dance, pilates and spin. Controlling my eating has always been my biggest challenge. I am an emotional eater and I know that until I can find a way to control that, I will never get my weight under control.

I've always been very ashamed about my struggle. I have never felt like I had anyone that could truly support and encourage me while understanding what my struggle is like. I'm hoping to find that here.

I have set myself a goal of losing 100 pounds in one year. I started on January 2 and lost 6.2 pounds the first month. Then I gained 2.6 in one week and I'm struggling to get back on track. I have decided to dedicate this next year to losing weight so that I can have more energy and be more active with my daughter. I would also like to meet that someone special to spend the rest of my life with and I'm hoping that once I feel better about myself, I'll have the confidence to finally get out there and start dating again.

Welcome!! I definitely relate to your story! It's so great to know there are others out there who share the same struggles. I know you can do this :) One day at a time, one pound at a time, it IS achievable.
