Taking it Day by Day

So I have been a big girl all my life and am 29 now with a daughter. I want to live for a long time and be here to support her, so I decided it was time to lose some serious weight and get healthy. I want to lose over 100 lbs. and am just taking every day as it comes.

**New Update: I have lost 113 lbs. so far and I am so super happy I can't even tell you. I feel so good physically that I cannot believe I was living before I lost all this weight. I still have weight to lose but I feel great and I have decided not to just wait for the weight loss but to start doing things I never thought I could before. I run/walked my first 5K on Thanksgiving day and it was amazing, I am now training for my next race which will be in February. I want to learn how to Kayak and start doing that as a fun physical activity. I want to start taking my daughter and going to the beautiful trails around here and hiking the area. I also want to start horseback riding. (All these are goals I am working towards and want to add to my.. I have done it list eventually.) I am working very hard to make physical activity a lifestyle change. Thanks for visiting the page and I hope you stick with it, because this site and the great people around here can truly help you reach any goal you want to get to. Keep on keeping on because the pay off is HUGE!!! :)

My Goals:
I want to eat better every day, learn to cook healthier meals, work out weekly and habitually and lose at least 30 lbs. by my birthday in april. (just some beginning goals)
**So I reached the working out daily goal and I actually exceeded my goal of losing 30 lbs. by my birthday and actually lost 35!!
WOOHOO!!

I have joined a challenge team on spark people so some new goals are:
Update: During the challenge I lost 22 lbs. and about 17 in. overall. I am below 300 now which is amazing.

I am joining the next BLC challenge and am hoping to:
-Lose at least 20 lbs.
-Make sure I stay in my calories each day ( I have been eating below my recommended each day & believe it caused me to stall out for a couple of weeks)
-Work out at least 5 days a week and reach my calorie burn goal each week
-be more active on the challenge forums than I was for the last challenge

My Program:
I track my food everyday and for everything I put in my mouth. I use spark people to build my strength training workouts and to track every bit of my cardio so I know how well I am doing for the week. I love the fitness section of spark people, so incredibly helpful! I try to implement small new habits every couple of weeks or month or so. This helps me to continue moving in the right direction.

Personal Information:
I am a single mom from North Texas, I work as a transcriptionist (ie I sit on my butt all day lol) and I homeschool my daughter.

Other Information:
I am a bit of a nerd with my nose stuck in a book the majority of the time. I love sci-fi movies and shows and my secret indulgence is Jersey Shore and Wrestling. SHHH don't tell anyone....I always feel slightly ashamed after watching them :)
