I''m Jenny. I''ve been overweight my whole life, and I finally started loving myself about five years ago. I joined Sparkpeople in 2010 and lost 35 pounds, but then I moved to Hawaii and things feel apart. I gained back fifteen pounds, and have been up and down ever since.

I just turned 29 and I'm in a happy place, but I want more out of life by the time I turn thirty (like scuba diving and going hiking with ease!). So I'm finally climbing back into the driver''s seat. The SP community was awesome last time, and I'm definitely looking for people to do this with, so feel free to hit me up! :)


Highest/starting weight: 220 lbs--OBESE (2.1.11)
Goal 1: 209lbs--MET! (2.22.11. Reward: ipod arm band)
Goal 2: 199lbs (10.24.15 current weight)

    Is it recommended that you stretch before your workout? Does stretching your muscles before you exercise prevent injury? According to Shape magazine, there is no scientific study that shows stretching before exercise will improve performance or protect your body from injury. They state that stretching increases flexibility, but most injuries occur during normal range of motion. The best way to prepare for your workout and reduce your risk of injury is to warm up. It is important that you increase blood flow to your muscles to prepare them for activity. Warming up also prepares your mind for the workout ahead. Focusing on your exercise and your performance can make a big difference to the intensity of your fitness session. Warming up by moving and getting blood to the working muscles is important, and save your stretching until after the workout.
