READY FOR A HEALTHIER OUTLOOK!

My Goals:
To lead a healthier and more fulfilling life and become a positive example for my two kids.

To promote and enforce healthier eating patterns for myself and my family.

My Program:
Dr. Fuhrman's Eat to Live.
Eating whole foods and limiting (to eventually eliminating) processed foods.

Personal Information:
I come from a family of 5 and have a twin-brother (who recently lost 65 pounds on his own!) and a very fit sister. I'm ready to not be the "fat" one. I have a 5 year old girl, Avery, and a 16-month old boy, Jack. They are the absolute loves of my life! I have been married to my husband for 7 years and he supports me all the way!

Other Information:
I am a stay-at-home mom and find it hard to not jump to the pantry when I'm feeling bored, stressed or depressed. I'm trying to focus myself for 2011 on healthier alternatives!

Actually, my first 6 weeks were THE BEST! I was (and still am) super excited about my new lifestyle. I started feeling better so fast, AND dropping weight really quickly. I lost 20+ pounds my first month! Now I've been at it for almost 8 months and I can't imagine living any other way.

My best advice would be to make sure you eat at least 1 cup of beans a day, VERY IMPORTANT. It will help you feel fuller longer and helps with sweet-tooth cravings. Also, plan ahead! I always have an apple and carrot sticks with me, just in case. I always start the day with a huge smoothie (frozen berries from costco are a huge time/$ saver.) GIANT salad for lunch. Smaller salad and a hot side dish for dinner. THere's lots of room for creativity, too.
