Ever since I can remember I was always overweight. I remember being a 4th grader and knew that most 4th graders don't weigh 100 lbs. I was picked on by kids when I was younger for being chubby (kids are so mean). Growing up I always knew I was heavier than most people my age. By the time a graduated high school I weighed 180 lbs.

Something in me had changed right out of high school. I started to workout a lot, and I believe it was because I was in a relationship that was not healthy. Even though the relationship wasn't a healthy one, my escape from it was working out at the gym. Needless to say that relationship came to and end. By that time I had dropped from 180 lbs. to 145 lbs. and I felt amazing! I remember how good I felt about myself and I long to feel that way again someday!

Eventually the weight came back on plus more. I went from 145 lbs. up to 205 lbs. (over time, but still it all came back). It was a result of not taking care of myself anymore, and not being active. I also believe the weight came back on because originally I had lost the weight on a resentment (it was destine to come back).

Years have passed and I've stuck around 190-205 lbs. ever since. I have the hardest time with staying motivated (as do most people). I'm longing to find that motivation I had years ago, but this time I want to change myself forever. My weight loss journey starts with me today! Only I have the power to motivate myself!

*Follow 1,500 calorie diet

*make healthy choices while eating out

*drink lots of water

*track calories

*workout at least 4 days a week


My Program:
- I will do my best to try to eat low carb because my body responds well to it, and I have serious carb issues.

- I will also watch my calorie intake daily and try to eat no more than 1,400 on days that I don't workout. I will increase my calories if I workout that day

- I will be either running/hiking/going to the gym at least 4-6 days out of the week!



Personal Information:
- I'm from Southern California near Los Angeles.

- I'm in the middle of a career change from being a hairstlyist to becoming a teacher.

- I'm extrememly busy focusing on losing weight, going to school full-time, and working. I tend to take on a lot at once lol. I believe I work well under pressure ;0)


Other Information:
- I'd like to work up to doing a 5k, 10k, and possibly a half marathon. I would like this to be a goal before I become pregnant

    Thanks! I think I'm proof that anyone can lose weight. I started small; eating healthy and not counting calories (but in the process cutting back from what I was eating). Then I added in workouts slowly until I started getting comfortable and seeing results. Then I joined Spark and started tracking everything. But ultimately it was just working out and counting calories that did it.

    Ya, I really haven't been on very much. It was hard for me to balance while working two jobs. I tend to spend TOO much time on spark so thats why I was avoiding it.

    I have a 1 month break from my interpreting job at the college, so I have been working out the last few days and trying to figure out what I want to "try" next! lol I am thinking I just want to focus on making meals at home (rather than eating out all the time, like we do) and exercising regularly. In a sense, I guess I am starting over AGAIN...*sigh* I have been yo-yo-ing about 4 pounds around 182...has been hard for me to get under 180! Right now I am about 185 and hoping to get down to 160 by the summer since that is when I will start looking for a wedding dress....oh lord! haha

    How have you been? Congrats on passing your classes!
