I'm a busy wife, mom (6yo girl), and full time nurse. I work 12 hour shifts and hardly have time to myself et alone plan healthy meals and set aside time to exercise. Twelve years ago I was 363# and a newlywed who was determined to live a long happy healthy life with my hubby. We both underwent gastric bypass surgery for weightloss. It was great and yes I'd do it again in a heartbeat. We've both gotten lazy and relapsed into our old eating habits and despite our "tool" the weight has crept back on. I have been gradually noticing it for a couple years, and within the last few months it seems to have skyrocketed. Recently at the Dr, I weighed in at 280 something, I say something because my brain went into freak mode and I honestly don't remember the last number. I'm choosing to cut it down the middle and say 285. The next day I found out my Ha1c was 6. I'm pre-diabetic! WTF was all I could think, how had this happened? Well I know how it happened. I got lazy and I'm an emotional eater, the day I saw my weight was close to the 300# mark I went home and ate half a box of Lucky Charm's, not the small box either, the big box!!
So, what do I do? I use needles everyday at work, in fact needles are my specialty. Except one problem... I can't poke myself to save my life! I had a bloodclot a couple years ago and had to inject heparin into my belly twice a day, I actually gave the syringe to my 4yo daughter and taught her how to give mommy her shots. A diabetic, I cannot become! So here I am back on Spark to utilize the amazing tools and wealth of nutrition information to drop 50# by Christmmas! And keep it off!!

Walking walking walking. Eventually I want to incorporate a little jogging as my body will allow. I am eating a healthy and balanced diet.
