Skinny Mindy - my new nickname!

Hi! I'm updating my update... In Jan. 2007 I was up to 166 lbs. and was really mad at myself for gaining so much but didn't really know what to do about it. On 1/1/08 I made the decision to REALLY start cutting down on junk food and snacking; weighing in at 159. Between Jan. and May 2009, I lost only 8 lbs. Toward the end of May I was browsing the Internet, looking at weight loss programs but everything was expensive. That's when I discovered Spark People, with starting weight of 147. ...
Hi! I'm updating my update... In Jan. 2007 I was up to 166 lbs. and was really mad at myself for gaining so much but didn't really know what to do about it. On 1/1/08 I made the decision to REALLY start cutting down on junk food and snacking; weighing in at 159. Between Jan. and May 2009, I lost only 8 lbs. Toward the end of May I was browsing the Internet, looking at weight loss programs but everything was expensive. That's when I discovered Spark People, with starting weight of 147. Once I starting the Spark People program (and the help of exercise from a used treadmill), I've continued losing until I reached my goal this January of 110 lbs.
None of this would have been possible without the help and support of Sparkpeople and friends who have encouraged me along. I'm going to continue on the program, just to maintain and keep track. Thank you for all your help!

This is an update on Jan. 1, 2010: I met my goal and even went 3 lbs. under! I lost 47 lbs. from one year ago and couldn't have done this without help from all of you and the Sparkpeople program! My new goal in 2010 is to KEEP IT OFF!

My Goals:
My goals include losing enough pounds to get back into the size I wore when we got married 30 years ago.

New goal: to KEEP IT OFF! and to keep up with the program so I don't start cheating!

My Program:
I joined 3 months ago and try to record all my meals every day (even if traveling). I try to use our treadmill 3-4 times a week. My job includes managing a paint department so I get plenty of cardio exercise at work. New program (1/1/2010) is to keep off the pounds!

Personal Information:
My name is Melinda and my husband is Jerry. We have three beautiful children who are the God given joy of our lives.

Other Information:
In my spare time, I love to work in the garden, watch our hummingbirds, and read.

Congratulations Mindy. You never looked fat to me, but I know how
good it is to lose to your chosen weight. I still have not started, we
have been busy with the "room". IT is basically done so I have no excuse.
I wish you all the wisdom and good choices during your maintenance
program, that is a hard one, but I am sure you can do it! emoticon
