For a very long time I have been wanting to lose weight but never really gave it my 100%. When I was young, I used to be very active in sports and never had to worry about my food as my activities would burn it all. But gradually all my activities reduced, as I got more involved with higher studies and in the transition I never really learned that my eating habits needed a change as well. Now when I look at the pictures, I am shocked to see how much I have let myself go. I know if I don't change my habits now, things can be worse.

My Goals:

Fitness: Make exercising an integral part of my life and develop strength / running stamina
Nutrition: Follow a healthy diet that's complete, nutritious and sustainable

Things I need to overcome:

1) Sweet tooth :(
2) Over-eating habits
3) Habit to quit my plans too soon

Approach:

I have a traveling job which does makes things a bit challenging but I know I have all the tools to make it work.

Fitness:
Exercise first thing in the morning so I have no excuse to miss during the day
Start couch-to-5k program
Start jillians 30 days shed program
Log my fitness minutes
Overall: A lot of cardio with some strength training exercises for overall stamina

Diet:
Eat balanced food and keep it within 1000 to 1200 cals/day
Continue drinking lots of water throughout the day
Reduce coffee-intake
Track my calories

I have started on the path and it feels great. I am here to get continued support so I stay on track and achieve my goals. Feel free to contact me if you want to join me and keep each other accountable.

2/12/17 - Its a strange feeling to come back to a page i created several years ago and look back at my thoughts that time. Looks like I've made some progress but still ways to go.

Looking at my weight loss ticker, I met my goal of 160lbs :). But now have revised goals to meet.
Fitness - I still would like to be able run 30 mins and build strength. I am back to week 4 of Run 5k program and have signed up for strength training.

3/19/17 - A month later still on track at 146.8 lbs. On week 7 of Run 5k

Today you have the choice to be amazing. Today you can do more than just try. You can succeed. You can be victorious. Today, you can rock your world. You can look yourself in the eye and smile... because you know that you are fighting for an amazing cause: YOU. And YOU are absolutely worth fighting for.

You can also do the same thing tomorrow.

In honour of the upcoming Summer Olympic Games this Saturday in London, I give to you the Olympic Creed which is as true for the games as it is for achieving our own goals and dreams each and every day:

"The most important thing in the Olympic Games is not to win but to take part, just as the most important thing in life is not the triumph but the struggle. The essential thing is not to have conquered but to have fought well."

Today, you are a superhero, a survivor, a warrior, and a beacon to others for honouring yourself, your mind and your body; for making the choices that will make you an even better person tomorrow.

Today you are one step closer, because you decided to be. Fight strong, fight well, fight fair.

"Never, never, never, never give up." - Winston Churchill
