Hi Im Mina, Im 23 years old and I joined spark people after someone mentioned it in the Biggest Loser community. After watching the show and looking at pictures on their website posted by viewers I suddenly realized that I can do it! I have been overweight my whole life and always letting it interfere with things I wanted to do. I am selfconscious more than normal and I know depression has played a part. I was diagnosed with PCOS and always let that bring me down. I always complained that I cant do anything or trying to find an easy way out. I am here to change my lifestyle and get to a healthy weight not only to make myself feel better but to prove to myself that I can accomplish anything! I know its going to be hard and a long journey, but I am wiling to do anything now to make myself healthier. I learned a lot about what being obese can do to you and your body. I have always been making excuses but now Ive changed. I love curves and have never imagined being 'skinny' because Im also not built that way. My ideal weight should be 140-160 because of my large frame. My ultimate goal is to get down to 150 and if Im not happy there I can keep going. Lets do it! UPDATED: 06/21/2012 Im back :) and im so excited and happy to be on track of everything I said i was going to be doing. I have decided to cut back on my starches and eat more fruits and veggies in my diet. Its been so easy cuz its summer time and its a great way to fill up on salads. I feel so full after my meals even without having bread or rice and i feel really good about what Im eating. I really hope Im taking the right and healthy route with this time around and I hope I see results soon. I have only changed my eating habits but I will soon be adding some activity in between my work days :) 05/25/11 Soooo Ive been busy and I know thats a lame excuse and I have been feeling really down about the losing weight thing. But Ive been happy with my life and have started changing mentally. I have not gained major weight, a few pounds, which I am so glad about because this weight loss has been since last year!! but I know I need to start getting ready to keep losing! UPDATED: 03/23/11 Im back! with an even bigger reason to lose weight, I really am ready to take the next step to lose the next 45lbs. I have been doing great by keeping the first 40lbs off but ive noticed I havent been as healthy as i should be and I really want to get back to living a healthy lifestyle. Im so excited and believe that I can do this as long as I keep myself motivated everyday! Changing my Life: May 2011- 195.2 BMI 32

My Goals:
1. drink plenty of h20 everyday 2. substitute soda with tea and fresh juices 3. November, lets boycott processed and sweet foods, it takes 30 days to break a habit 4. if feeling guilty after eating dont smoke, just wait and then do some light exercise 5. only eat when youre hungry and dont overeat 6. kickstart metabolism with BREAKFAST! 7. this season is full of goodies, dont go overboard, eat in moderation 8. start getting back into yoga and walking 9. try to walk more instead of using the car 10. think healthy and positive, this isnt punishment, its a change and a good one! =)
My Program:
Optimism has a lot to do with weight loss, you need to be positive and have the right mind set to get things accomplished! so im trying to no matter failures I have keep trying and stay positive! 1. food plan - mix some of SP's plan with my own healthy recipes 2. exercise - start off with 3 times a week and try to make it a habit I have to realize that it will take time and I wont see a huge difference in the first week I have to work at it!
Personal Information:
Im originally from Virginia but now I go to school at Drexel and live in Philly! I love kitties and bunnies, I love reading and doing arts and crafts cuz Im a dork like that =P
